I think geography is a compulsory subject in schools in all countries, so I'm surprised that this is not the case in the US. Although I don't remember anything from school... my knowledge of geography grew the most while I was playing HOI4 💀 As for the topics we covered on history in school, we had two compulsory subjects: Ukrainian History and World History. As far as I remember, world history lessons mainly covered topics related to Europe (perhaps because Europe was actively “involved” in the affairs of other countries, let's call it that). During six years of school with World History, we covered: primitive society, ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China, Greece, and Rome, then the Early Middle Ages, feudalism, Byzantium, Western Europe, the Crusades, the Arab world, the Renaissance, the Reformation, the Great Geographical Discoveries, absolutism, the first bourgeois revolutions, the Industrial Revolution, colonialism, national movements, world wars, World War I and II, the interwar period, the Cold War, decolonization, and globalization. Something like that, but I don't remember very well. At school, I liked World History more than History of Ukraine, because the history of Ukraine was too depressing...

I've seen some people already recommend it but you should react to Sidemen GTA meme olympics and other GTA videos as well. Also if you want to watch more Geoguessr, not exactly Sidemen but you should consider watching JackSucksAtGeography together with Zi8gzag. They also created a new channel together called Jack & Oscar. (Jack is the one in the latest Sidemen Among Us)

In my high school Geography, History and Religious Studies were all mandatory from the ages of 11 to 14. Then for the last 2 years you choose 1 of the 3 to take for your GCSEs (end of high school exams). I chose Geography but was also invited to take a Religious Studies short course. In the UK in general you have to do all 3 until the age of 14.
