😶 Well this was.. unexpected. To be fair, I also feel conflicted about this outcome. I think it's easy to say "this person deserves death" but being confronted with the reality is rough. But, watching true crime and seeing how evil child killers are and how empathy isn't inherent, it has to be taught one way or another, so if all they know is violence, they're not likely to learn empathy on their own, I don't think Marina could've changed before killing Shizuka. I agree that it's tragic but not necessarily wrong

This is a very human story.

In that situation in my opinion marina had to go man, she was twisted and there was no way she was gonna stop.

This is the first time of me watching TOS. I vaguely knew the premise that there's an alien who tries to make a girl laugh. That's it. If I had known the girl would be bullied to this degree I wouldn't have started watching it. That being said, I did watch the first episode with you all. I always have visceral reaction to bullying. I literally punched a wall because i couldn't do anything for Shizuka. I've never wished death upon anyone but when i saw Marina took Shizuka's eye out, that was the moment i figured that no matter what, you cannot remove that kind of violence from that child. That's the kind of child people hear about in true crimes stories. I wasn't planning to continue this anime because it was taking toll on my mental health. but someone spoilt the 2nd episode saying that the girl dies. And solely for that reason i decided to continue this anime. I wanted someone to make Marina to hold accountable for what she did. and if death was the solution this anime was giving, i gladly took it. I don't know what's going to happen from now on but at this moment I'm glad to get rid of Marina.

the sad thing is, getting Marina out of that household and into pretty intense therapy would've most likely avoided all of this
