I had all sorts of things to say until Steph said "they think their pull-out game is THAT strong? Come on.." 🤣 that sent me to orbit. But anyway~ this is definitely the ep my case worker trigger warned me about 😖 ugh.. kaka.. I used to like Campbell and now I wanna wash my mouth out for ever saying the words, I need some therapy, a Ativan, and maybe a beer, and I don't even drink lol I'm just heebie-jeebied to my soul. Also, I kinda get where Michael is coming from in that the cops probably didn't paint a realistic picture of what happened, given how we STILL see comments from both men and women on SA news videos about how "she wanted it. She pretends like she doesn't, comes onto him, then reports it. If the meat is out, the cats come calling." And other gross crap so back then? Ugh, I can only imagine what they say about Pol because of her reputation as a gangsteress without a husband, which on the Grace matter, is an important factor I'll get to. But yeh, so Michael, who's been fed lies about his mom his whole life, comes brand new to this shady world with Pol acting holier than thou and like a good catholic mum, then he gets arrested because of her family, and then told that his mom came and slept with the cops as payment to free him. That would be disturbing, confusing, traumatizing, and he is still technically a teen, so he doesn't exactly have the maturity to face such a complex situation. Plus, on a less savory note, being a wannabe macho like he is, I bet he'd probably feel a sense of shame and emasculation that his mom had to come save him by "being a whore" or something along those lines, so that's how I read his reaction (not that it's ok, or that I agree with it, mind.) I think if Pol wasn't in shock, self-loathing, disgust.. she would've slapped the cigarette from his mouth for that comment he made. I dunno if I'd go so far as to say he should thank her, (not sure I'd want to be thanked for that) but he shouldn't have treated her like that. I think she needed a silent hug, but dunno if the Shelby's are capable of that kinda compassion. 😅 On the note of the Tommy love triangle, I think I prefer him with Horse lady, but I dunno if I trust her yet. Isn't it a little convenient she happens to be there to distract Tommy with Sabini's people at the auction, and then again she distracts him when all this stuff goes down against Arthur, Michael, and Pol? 🤔 I can't shake the feeling she migh've been one of the women in the beginning that burned down the pub. The IRA people are rich, classy types aren't they? The more robot seeming ones anyway. But I don't like how things are playing out with Tommy and Grace, though to extend some grace to.. Grace, this is during a time when marriage was safety and security for women and if you weren't married, you were either a spinster or a whore, and she needed a quick cover to change her name and stuff, so.. it wasn't exactly UNHEARD of for women to marry for safety but not be in love with the husbands, which is where we get so much star-crossed lovers, forbidden romance between married women and handsome bachelors from. In the 1800s-1900s that was one of the most romantic ideas, that you marry out of necessity and some man you desperately love saves you from being a homemaker, kinda thing. I do think she learned to care about her husband but obviously doesn't quite hold the same spark she does for Tommy, but it's also not so easy to say "then don't get married" to a woman in this time period, or a ex spy with no identity 😅 I'm not sure where I land with her issue. I just know I don't ship them. Never have, probably never will, but I quite like the situation with new lady if she doesn't end up being one of the other gang's people. I also had the idea that maybe she's a Jewish woman, since crazy Jewish gang leader said "don't touch Jewish women" with such.. emphasis? Pointedness? So if she isn't a baddie, she could be related to them. Ex sister in Law perhaps? That's about as much brainpower as I can muster after this brain-rot of an ep 😅 oh but I think you may have called it. I think Grace will get pregnant by Tommy, or perhaps other lady. That was just too pointed

I know this is an old reaction, but I just wanted to add that Esme was definitely not propositioning only Tommy and her to go run off and live the Gypsy life. She was trying to persuade Tommy to move the whole family into that life.
