Those of us with Asian parents can relate. The reality for many of us is that we've never run crying to our parents. But we've often run -away- from our parents, crying.

Marina’s mom and dad taught her how to hate and blame. Shizuka’s mom taught her how to manipulate people to get what she needed. Azuma’s mom taught him that love is conditional. A parent can so easily shape their child at this age

yeah, I can believe Azuma's mom exists in the world- but damn she is like extreme asian parent. At least I think so.

Unfortunately Shizuku doesn't care if marina dies because she was making her life hell. Im pretty sure if Marina kill shizuku she also wouldn't feel back, because by her perfective she was the villain.

yeah i feel shizuka, you dont have much time or energy or headspace to be learning moral lessons when you're too busy getting ur face smashed in and living life as not ur own, girl is probably dissociated to the 10 realms and beyond and the only thing her brain can grasp as any sort of life goal is to find chappy like, empathy probably comes second to her brain's goal of surviving insane abuse. normally in these cases (from what ive experienced), the empathizing feelings and capabilities almost get 'unlocked' with healing and lots of emotional and mental work. empathy is such an important social skill that i feel like people forget is a skill, and needs to be practiced, which shizuka has had no time to do
