This isn't a plot relevant thing but I want to clarify that Lena's uncle is not really her uncle. Him (Jerome) and her dad were "just" best friends. Like "brother from another mother" kind of thing.

I remember being simultaneously in awe and sorrow of the fireworks imagery this episode. Spearhead really did burn bright for the limited time they had to breathe on this world. A view that takes your attention for only a few seconds, till it fades back to black. And as Kurena asked, who will remember Shin? Who will get to see him burn brightly, and know that he existed if we all pass on before him? So it was really touching to hear him ask Lena if she will remember him, and all of Spearhead.

Just to show how strong shin is , Raiden arguably the second strongest 86 alive believes that if shin was given enough time and good equipment he would become the key to annahalaiting the legion. He also mentions how if Shin was born during any other time period he would become humanity's hero , his name etched into humanity history and sung by further generations. Unfortunately he was born during this time , were he was destined to die in a unknown battlefield, without a grave ,name or honor.
