I like the interesting parallel this backstory adds between Loid and Anya. Loid lied about his age to enlist, Anya lied about her age to be adopted. If he ever finds out she lied to him, I bet he'll remember this moment.

Fun idea for the dramatic twist, but it seems like that could be a bit of a demotion. I imagine a spy of that caliber wouldn't end up in what seems to me a supervisory desk job at a branch office. Maybe "dad" could be Yuri's boss's boss though...
