Ahhh ya.. we've been waiting YEARS for S2 too.. 😅 like.. for me, it's been 5 years. Hopefully they'll see the love and push for S3 but I have trust issues with anime finishing their stories and tend to turn to the Manga for the conclusions.

So this ended at CH 86 except for the last two minutes, which were anime original content replacing what was the introduction of the next arc. The manga has currently concluded with 116 chapters in print. That put things at a really awkward point when it comes to the decision on a continuation. Not enough original content to make a full third season for TV. But too much to fit into a movie format without massive cuts. To further complicate things, the mangaka has indicated an intent to release a "side story" in the near future. So possibilities are (from worst to best) 1. That's it - read the manga. 2. A movie that severely condenses the final arc. 3. An ONA release of a shortened S3. 4. A full S3 incorporating the additional content that the mangaka herself is working on. It's no wonder there has been no announcement since the finale aired in September. I would not expect any word until next year at the earliest pending development of the additional material. On the positive note the podcast from the voice talent has announced they will continue on a monthly schedule which I don't think they would do if the project was dead in the water.

Welcome to the suffering chamber with the rest of us your two! Here’s hoping that the wait isn’t, like, 3 or 4 years this time. A show with similar vibes that I really appreciate is 2.5 Jigen no Ririsa, I fell in love with it when I decided to watch on a whim. It’s also about cosplay and touches a lot of similar points, but does its own thing. Would recommend to anyone who enjoyed Dress Up Darling, though it’s a bit more on the ecchi side early on

If it's ANY consolation I've been waiting for season 3 of Noragami for...... 10 years. The manga is complete. They did a WHOLE thing last year teasing things... was it season 3? Nope. It's enough to break an anime fans heart.
