The royal guards moaning while giving Meruem their life energy is still uncomfortable to me.

"now we will never know" i think that also shows a certain level of "independence" the author gives his characters and i love it

I'm sure people already mentioned in the previous episode's comment section, but I'm just gonna go ahead and echo the sentiment. Episodes 129, 130, and 131 really ought to be watched together.

Anyone know what they're doing sidemen wise?

Gon to Phantom Troupe during York New: “how can you kill someone who has nothing to do with you?” Gon to Pitou during Chimera Ant Arc: “Next time you try to delay me, I’ll kill her.”

Atlas Creation

Crazy how pitou’s ability could be used to save so many people

128 Might be my least favorite episode just cause of how weird it is lol

7:35 Very much agree with Steph about Japan and their experience with nukes. When Japanese authors uses nukes in their story, pay close attention because they do take the subject seriously.

Please watch episode 129-131 together. Also, you can watch both the OP and ED on episode 131

These two episodes kinda remind me of star wars episode 3 the part on Mustafar

“i thought hxh was a peaceful world” oh man😭

also if u remember back to the yorknew arc, gon asks the troupe “how can u kill people who have nothing to do with you?”, then in 128, he threatens to kill komugi, makes u think

Outside of episodes 13 & 26 which are filler episodes "Unparalleled Joy × and × Unconditional Love" stands as the lowest rated episode on IMDb - 7.1. People were uncomfortable with the animation of naked Royal Guards and sound design there, one of the reviews even said "Stop having an orgasm!!!" lmao But on the other hand it says a lot about anime's quality if its lowest episode is above 7. Steph nailed Pouf's essence as a character (overbearing parent), but I still find him amusing as soap opera villain, especially now when Meruem lost his memory and Pouf wants to kill the girl lol

Episode 128 felt like it was made by the person who created Jojo's Bizarre adventure.

Sammy Nanji

you realy need to watch 131 with 130

Netero vs Meruem wasn't just a battle between two super-powered individuals, but rather two collectives, and the human experience and ingenuity for war and conflict far outweigh the ants. We're not so different. Who knew we'd get a mini lecture on nuclear war in Hunter x Hunter.

Wes hit the nail on the head with the perspective of building a moral compass out of pure emotion. That was such a good observation!

Arian Abdolahy

Meruem wasn't even emotionally charged when he talked about humans as food. Gon was fully enraged and fixated on revenge, he couldn't think clear and everybody knows that Gon won't let it go. Meruem on the other hand was willing to be influenced, remember when he said to Netero that only words can influence him? Meruem also was able to change his mind after encountering Komugi and her resolve, pretty quickly. So, whatever self-centered side he had, he had to sacrifice in order to co-operate with Komugi and have an actual interaction.

Arian Abdolahy

Just imagine: If Kite was still alive, he would have hit gone again. Why? Because acting on pure emotion isn't the right thing to do - it will endanger him and the people around him. Imagine someone was there who'd have been courageous enough to confront Gon and remind him of that.

Did you remember Steph saying something about killing ants with nuclear weapons.bomb or something in a far back episode? xD
