I think what impacted me about this arc and this episode is how real it is. People don't become desperate for nothing. They get pushed up against a wall and when they see no reasonable way out, they do things even they know is wrong. That's what makes the situation in America these days so scary. When the downtrodden go unheard, they seek desperate solutions and we're so close to getting to that point. How different would the world be if we actually started having open dialogues again and started listening to others? There's no reason that there should be so much contention but yet, we find reasons to hate and disagree. I think what's special about Anya's power is that it means she actually listens. Even to the bad guys, she listens to the core reasoning of why they do what they do. There's something special about that and how the show demonstrates how she uses that power 🥺

I condone the methods of the Red Circus but at the same time feel a bit sorry because they are a byproduct of the oppressiveness of their government. There's a good chance that many of the members had a similar situation to Billy losing somebody to the government.

I think you meant "condemn," condone implies you approve of their methods lol.
