What an incredible journey it's been! The manga isn't over but I doubt there'd be any anime adaptation soon. Loved your reaction to this series. Honestly, it has been 10 years since I first watched HxH, and I'd forgotten what a masterpiece this anime was. You've made my first rewatch so much more interesting with your reactions, speculations, and insights!

Wait the Nen thing wasnt mentioned in the Anime? I was sure it wasnt just in the Manga but I guess my memory betrayed me.

There is a feeling of pure bliss when I watch an episode of hunter hunter there is feeling past enjoyment when i see those characters i can explain why i like an anime like stines gate but with hxh i can only explain some of it there’s this hidden unexplained feeling as soon as watch or read a chapter of hxh a feeling that comes from the bottom of my heart when i think of these characters and a feeling that nothing i watch can come close to it recently I’ve rewatched all of hxh and i enjoyed more than my first time I’ve watched hxh 8 times each time I enjoy it more and each time i hear ging talk about detours on the last episode a gigantic grin appears on my face

I think you got a lot of engagement with Hunter X Hunter because this show isn't really that focused on fights and hype moments. It's quite philosophical, and logical, and when the fights happen, they're mostly strategic. Oftentimes, they've been strategized before they happen so when they do, they end quickly. I think our longest fight was Netero vs Meruem and that was only like 1.5 episodes as opposed to most battle shonens where fights could take 4 episodes, even longer. Hunter X Hunter makes the audience think. So the fans also like reactors who do think and discuss a lot rather than just react to hype moments and fights. (SLIGHT MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD) Now that you've finished the anime, I think that it's safe to talk some stuff that's going on with the manga in connection with the story that you've just experienced. They maybe technically manga spoilers, so i'll let you guys decide if you wanna read up ahead but I think it's okay since the things that I'll say are just in the beginning of the manga after the chapter they animated in these episodes and it would take a long time before they make a "season 2" of the anime. -Nanika is is also from that "outside world" that Ging just talked about. -Gon in the current arc of the manga is not the focus. Of the crew, it's Kurapika. We barely see any Gon, and the last panel he's in, it seems like he's lost his nen as consequence of his "power up" against Pitou.

tbf the last time they showed Kite, she was still a little kid. In this episode she looks like a teenager. Very different looking except the red hair.

For Ging, I think there's not much to it -- like he said in the recording way back, he simply didn't want to settle down and raise Gon, which would mean abandoning his adventures. Doesn't mean he's not a people-person, just means he's selfish / an irresponsible father. In his defence though for a bit, he first made sure Gon would be well taken care of, and no doubt had ears on Whale Island in case anything important happened. Given Gon's idyllic / totally chill upbringing, Ging's presence would've enriched it surely, but I'm not sure it's by much, especially if results are any indication. Good times overall, glad to have finished this (again) with y'all.

Ging probably wouldn't be able to authentically connect to Gon because of who he is and what his passion is, if Gon woulnd't be a Pro Hunter.

"just means he's an irresponsible father" *goes on to mention how Ging was being responsible* I don't think anyone who sees Gon would think that he has trauma from an absent father. Gon seems like a secure attacher, doesn't seem to have attachment issues, issues with closeness or autonomy. It takes a village to raise a child. Gon had that village - everyone was cheering for him when he caught that giant fish. The qualities of being a father can be embodied by anyone and as you can observe, Gon doesn't seem to have any attachment issues or trauma from having an absent father. Whereas Killua has problems to express feelings of love or sadness towards Gon despite having a father who was present and a grandfather as well and brothers.
