Love hearing your reactions and thoughts about to their music. But can’t help thinking about Steph’s pregnancy during the video (side effects of being a nurse 😅). Praying for a smooth and safe delivery and a healthy baby Wes and Steph! 💕💕💕

I love your album reactions and your interpretations! They’re always so much fun and very insightful. -On why it's part 2, like with a lot of their mini albums (as with the Love Yourself era, which was split into 3 parts), BTS tend to explore singular themes in different parts/mini albums with more specific sub-thematically relevant songs bundled into each mini-album that all work together. I think you’re right that this part explores more of the fleeting nature of love and youth (the melancholy that you guys felt). -I loved your interpretation of Butterfly and how it can refer to the delicate and fleeting nature of hope. I remember that a lot of us connected the song to losing a loved one when they are suffering from really bad mental health issues (which was also a big element in BTS’s music videos from this era). It just works on so many levels. -On Whalien52 like a lot of the other comments have said, the real story and whale species its based on is so meaningful, and it marks the start of the whale as a symbol of connection between BTS and Army, as essentially the song can also be interpreted as the member’s song and voices finally being heard by Army (their reward for their lonely pursuit) -On Ma City- correct me if I'm wrong, but Suga’s verse is funnier when you consider that V is from Daegu as well (in their earlier performances of the song Yoongi sits on Tae when he’s sitting down under the ‘Daegu’ sign on their set) -On Bapsae, you guys were really spot on with the generational differences and misunderstandings interpretation. I would still suggest checking out the explained video from DKDKTV (along with the Satoori rap explained video from the same channel!) And in general, I love this album and had such a blast re-living it with you. Can’t wait for the live performances. I also love the speculation regarding the upcoming album- we’re all so curious as a collective and I can’t believe we’ll get answers in a little over a month.

I'm so glad you're using DIAL 6137's lyric videos now!! :)

Satoori rap combined with the baepsae explained video perhaps? They’re both by dkdk tv

I’m still hoping for yaman tv interview reaction…

You guys should delve into the bts universe story line nexttt

OMG WRONG RUN😂😂😂 tbf BTS has far too much "run" stuff. Are we talking Run BTS the show? Run by BTS the song (should be on this album)? or the latest run song which is "Run BTS" - that was actually on PROOF album not The Most Beautiful Moment in Life

Hanan Haliru

They're saying us GenZ now can't buy houses because of matcha. Just reheating the avocado toast nachos.

Leenseoh

OMG that reaction was so good (as always). I always enjoyr your discussion :) Also, I understand the confusion with all the "run" titles, happens a lot lmao.

You missed the title track of the album. It's just titled "Run" and it has a great MV. You're only 2-3 years in (not 10), you've got a long way to go! ;-)

I'd say the reason why a lot of BTS' songs have that acknowledgment of a failed relationship but still holding onto it motif is bc they were so obviously R&B influenced. Just look at this album, and all the songs that had that theme, they're all R&B. That yearning, heartbreak, singing through the pain aspect is like a core tenet of R&B. It's simply a must. I like to call it "singing in the rain music" lol I want R&B BTS to come back so bad 😩 they're sooo good at it

1:57 “nevermind it’s not easy but engrave it in your chest” the way jimin literally did this and at first it was a fake temporary tattoo and later he actually tattood (engraved) it on his chest 😭😭

ah, I like your reaction but i wish yall had listened to the right "run" and maybe looked up the year of this album before the reaction. I think your impression that they'd already made it big and had been together for 10 years really affected how you saw the album. they were still new, and that's why suga in the skit was worried about having a one hit wonder with I Need U, and the songs here are more about the uncertainty of clinging to a dream that was never real and would never really happen, or is gone as soon as it starts or destined to be a short-lived dream, i think this is a common theme because a lot of young love feels that way and i imagine even moreso in their industry, but also because they had fears still that ARMY would lose interest quickly and imagined a future where that would happen constantly, and also because the idol industry is usually short lived with only glimpses of success, so I feel it fit their hopeful desperation and anxieties around their love for their dreams and loves and the precarity of their lives on the brink of success or failure and the many ups and downs. the theme of trying to find a more sustainable way to handle pressure and fame was more of what they explored later, imo, after around 2018 when they won the AMA for top social artist and then especially around 2020, when the expectations for Map of The Soul 7 were super high and they were afraid of losing the joy of it. Keep in mind that they only started in 2013 so 10 years in was not until 2023 and hit during their military/solo era!!! anyway, I know you will revisit these songs and the timeline again, so I'm not worried, I just wish your reaction hadn't been thrown off by listening to RunBTS (which did come out 10 years after being trainees, it was on Proof!) instead of listening to HYYH's Run. The themes of Run also fit that era of desperation and working/playing super hard, spending your youth in the highs and lows of risk, passion/obsession, creativity and maybe recklessness...with nothing guaranteed, knowing they might be running toward a dream that will hurt them or never happen or something that will be constantly unsteady and fleeting...yet doing it anyway because they just can't let the dream, passion and effort go to waste.

For the concert, I hope yall get to go sometime! I hope a kind ARMY or patreon member will help you plan and help connect yall with tickets! I know baby is on the way too so that timing is tricky too. since a lot of shows are sold out, a good way to get a better price is to either buy it straight from a fellow ARMY who wants to sell close to face-value or to buy on ticketmaster very last minute (like day of show last minute), since resellers who were trying to mark them up to make a profit may just drop the price to at least break even on the day of, or ARMY who couldn't make it last minute or got a better ticket might resell their previous seats. there really are no bad seats because the lights are so beautiful and the atmosphere is so pleasant! I hope you guys get to go! your instinct to avoid scams is really good, I would only buy resale from ticketmaster directly or verified seatgeek tickets, or from an ARMY whose reputation I trust or who can have people vouch for them. I think sometimes fellow youtube reactors help eachother get to concerts, maybe someone will reach out before they are in your area and things will come together! if not, they are also livestreaming their first shows both online and in the movie theater, you should look into it if you are interested! though I know baby is coming so soon so idk if the timing would be overwhelming! there will still be a lot of excitement coming for yall to enjoy! Before the tour starts, they will also have a livestream of their comeback for Arirang on Netflix March 21, and then a Netflix documentary they filmed making the album in LA airs March 27 too!

Jeez, this album makes me ugly cry so hard 😭 a lot of impressions is that BTS's songs in this time reflect how they felt about both Army and each other. They nearly broke up several times, having to beg each other to stay over and over. Suga first because he didn't want to be an idol and felt misled by the direction of the band. Joonie apparently tried to quit but pushed through before letting anyone know. Then J-Hope tried to leave but stayed because JK begged him to stay, which was most impactful by the fact they butt heads the most apart from Jimin and Tae. I don't remember if ya'll reacted to the story of the music videos, but it's loosely based on the turmoil they were going through. But they also mean Army as well, because Army is directed tied to their feeling of success. Without us, they would be nothing, so they conflated our opinions with their worth in the beginning, feeling like everything fans got upset about (there were a few unjust controvies in this time period to the point of Yoongi being too scared to get on stage and Joonie seeking outside critiques on his writing) would make their career and dreams as fleeting as a butterfly. They never knew when fans would turn through their mistakes while they were trying to navigate a career at such a young age where normally, idols and artists have managers and companies that can shield them. BTS were DIRECTLY responsible for their own success and failures, having to pay for studio, training, and food out of pocket. Thankfully, I think most of them have a healthier relationship with the group and Army, but there are ones like JK and Tae who feel especially affected by their relationship to the fans. Yoongi got better with his struggle with ideas of success, and Joonie is up and down, putting love letters to Army on Weverse or talks about how he feels directionless. Jimin DEFINITELY needed a separation from Army because he developed severe self-esteem struggles. A little recognized one is Hobi. It wasn't until Jack-in-the-Box he even revealed he had struggled with self image. Everyone expects him to be so happy all the time, it caused such a disconnect. I think they all really needed a break by the time Love Yourself came out because of the burn-out during The Most Beautiful Moment 1 and 2 where they had SUCH a burst in growth and right as they're maturing. On a lighter note, the funniest thing about Yoongi saying "I'm the most successful man to come out of Daegu" is that Tae is also from Daegu 😂 he just burned him so hard

Whalien holds a special place in my heart because I relate so much to that feeling of being detached from everyone else with my struggles of CPTSD, depression, AuDHD and all that, but also because I love sea creatures specifically lol. So some of my favorite lines or meanings derived from that song are that they're talking about a specific breed of whale that communicates on a frequency no other creature can communicate with. I believe it's the blue whale. They will never be heard or understood by another living creature, and that really hit Namjoon. The song was important to Tae because of the "alien" part of the name. He feels too weird, too strange to interact with other people. He used to get made fun of for "talking like a alien" what we now call "Tae-Tae language" (this is the inspiration behind Tata, the alien who talks backwards and canonically, is worlds apart from the other characters, literally ending up standing apart from them as a main character because he ran away from his home and found the other characters) he feels isolated for his weirdness, rather than his inability to communicate his feelings. Hobi has never commented on how the song impacted him, but I feel like the "even if I sleep a shrimp's sleep" line hit a chord with his core personality. Shrimp are like sharks, where they can never hold still and never stop moving or they die. They are primarily prey, so they quite literally feel the need to always stay active. I think this line is important to Hobi because he feels the need to be "on" all the time. He's never allowed to be hurt, sad, depressed or lonely because others rely on his happiness so much. He's constantly masking, even at home. He said at one point that his biggest frustration/worry was that whenever he went home and let himself be himself, a much more calmer, 0 emotion, flat affect version, his family would worry and stress over him that he seemed down when he was just tired from being everyone's hope, which is addressed again in the Jack-in-the-box album. 🥺 such perfect symbolism. I think (I might be wrong on this one) the 52 represents the frequency the whale communicates in.
