I haven't watched their 2014 GDA performance in a long while😭. Plus steph, they didn't sing jk's part at all, they just let it play and you see his space in the choreo. I have memories forever of JIMIN ORANGE HAIR, RM PINK HAIR AND MOST OF ALL MINT HAIR YOONGIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!

A lot of the older performances had terrible camera work and audio mixing, like most of bts' old performances, and it's kinda a known army thing that it was done on purpose to sabotage them. Music shows still do this to groups to this day (sabotage that is) which is just so sad, but yeah there's some pretty infamous incidents 🥲 they used to also have performances cut short and stuff, man it was such a struggle, we can forget now they're as huge as they are but it was roughhhhh 💔 Also the award shows typically always happen at the end of the year (usually December), that's why you'll see lots of special xmas stages at award shows too lol , but year they're usually referred to as 'end of year award shows' when idols mention them! If you ever want to search for performances at the music shows the biggest shows are Inkigayo, The Show, Show Champion, M Countdown, Music Bank and Show! Music Core and Simply Kpop (i think those are all the main ones) so if you ever wanna watch any bts music show stages you can just search the song name and put one of those show names next to it! Or you can just search something like "run by bts comeback stage" and you'll find a bunch of options on YouTube! (They're still victims of the terrible camera work and audio mixing here but because they're actual TV shows they're usually at least up to a certain standard quality) A good one is also just to search like "run by bts concerts live" and see what the most popular results are! Also yeah the main award shows I'd say are MAMA, MMA, GDA (golden disc awards), AAA (Asia artist awards) and Hanteo Music Awards so you can also search those specific shows if you're looking for stuff! Bts also went to a big kpop convention called KCON at least a couple times if I remember correctly so KCON performances might interest you for the older eras! Obviously as they get bigger they went and performed on a lot of international talk shows and award shows but definitely not in this era Oh and in 2015 they finally won their first music show (mentioned above) award, when an artist wins on there with a new comeback its called the "first win" and winning those is actually super important and significant to smaller groups that are just starting, also for bts to be 2 whole years in and only just win their first show is CRAZY, especially considering how mega successful they became. Not winning in your first year can often be a sign that your group is kinda doomed to fail or fall into "nugudom", nugu being the romanised version of the korean word 누구 which means "who", so to be a nugu group or fall into nugudom means to basically be super small and unknown and irrelevant and obscure and just not getting results. But yeah its super important which is why its so crazy for i need u to be their first ever win! For example im a fan of a group that debuted mid 2025 so still not even a year old and they've won a bunch of music shows, thats what you'd expect from a group as huge as bts but alas the history is crazy lmao

Sorry if theres any typos i have crazy long acrylic nails rn and can barely type 💀

I loved rewatching these performances with you guys- despite the audio mixing and camera issues Does anyone have a good link for the HYYH concert? It contains all the live performances of the songs from part1 and 2

Ale

I really hope you react to the HYYH concert! I know you might be busier because of the baby, but I honestly don’t mind if you split it into two parts. I especially recommend BTS Live: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage – Epilogue, hopefully someone has a good link 😁. Also, don’t forget about the album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: young forever. It might seem like a compilation album, but it also has new songs like Young Forever, Save Me, and Fire, plus full-length versions of songs like Love Is Not Over and House of Cards. Maybe you could react to those songs and also react the Japanese songs of that era which are "good day", "wishing on a star" and "for you".

"You can really hear the pain in their voices" That's something I've always loved about Run (and really all the songs of the HYYH era). They're all so emotive. The most beautiful moment in life, yet the songs evoke such strong feelings of pain, loss, yearning, etc. There's almost a sense of desperation that flows as an undercurrent throughout most of the trilogy (be it positive or negative). It's so beautiful to me, love that dichotomy

Just to help you guys keep track of the timeline: 2015 is when HYYH pt 1 and pt 2 came out. The next album you listen to will be pt 3 (HYYH: Young Forever) and that one came out in 2016

Highly recommend Boracity Magazine's video "respect your seniors, mock your juniors, bts' lesson on respect" - it has excerpts from their book where they opened up about what it was like for them behind the scenes. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/aOVyPLUd6YU?si=w7eOFKE-pSb_x-ly Also, for their new album Arirang, the promotion is unlike anything else they have ever done! We don't know anything at all - we have album photos with blank white boxes, mysterious billboards worldwide asking "What is your love song?", a mystery playlist on Spotify with silent audio, and walls of roses for people to take in cities worldwide on Valentine's. Only confirmed releases so far are their comeback performance on Netflix on March 21st, followed by a documentary on Netflix a week later.

Sabbie

Hope everyone has pre-saved Arirang on Spotify! We're trying to break the record for this: https://open.spotify.com/prerelease/1DcxHW214MCDxXju71RbvX?si=Yakc_7lxSouownqa3Ydk_A

The thumbnail of your blue colored shirts matching the blue sky of the video looks really cool.

yall are the best. glad you got to listen to Run in some context before you got too far away from hearing the album! i know yall like to spot the themes, i was as much bummed for you guys as i was for us but don't worry, it totally is an understandable mixup! i think i could kind of tell that yall were questioning the ten years thing but you didn't fully trust yourself to go against that lyric!

Ahjusshi_Brown

This wasn't their first MAMA. Their first was actually the previous year (2014) with Danger

Ahjusshi_Brown

Not sure if you guys noticed, but that was Yoongi playing the piano in that I Need U performance. And that wasn't the audience on the side (the audience was in front of them) those were other idols watching their performance
