Brother, a job is a job, and a dream is a dream. You and Vanny can get another one and share that job and dream together. You can't find another like each other. Sure you can maybe find love again, but you'll never recover from the heartbreak you'll cause.

Ah granny Bewear the wise!! Her insight so powerful!

Poor Rookie, I can't imagine how he must've felt thinking that he's about to shatter the heart of someone he's worked so hard to get to open up to him. To him in this instant, life must seem so cruel to take away what would've otherwise have been a perfect life if it wasn't for one stupid mistake... such is life I guess. You can spend an entire lifetime building up an empire and have it fall the next day if you're not careful. Also, I like how the old woman helping him is a Bewear. In the games, Bewear are pokemon that really want to show affection but can't because they might crush the spine of whomever they hug. It's the perfect pokemon to represent Rookie in this scenario: a love restrained, he can't even face the woman he loves so dearly. And yet ironically, the same sentiment leads to hurting them anyway... but what can he do? I hope this encounter gives him the hope he needs to turn the tables. Out of all the partner couples, these two deserve each other the most. Time to stop moping around and rekindle that love, Rookie!

Combining my three comments: Part 1 Wow, Vanessa looked worn-down at the start, but he already looks worse than she ever did. He looks like he's wondering just how far he would go to do the right thing...and if "the right thing" involves violence without warning, hesitation, or regret. And all around, I don't blame him. Fortunately, he's the type to talk to himself. A lot. Part 2 Okay, I know some of us (me included) were hoping for Valerie to get involved, and maybe she still can, but plot convenience or not, I like this lady and I hope we see her again, too. After the updates last week, she's like a breath of relief. Part 3 I now have the idea that Rookie (and ideally Vanessa) will give Mandy a love-powered psychic double beatdown. After all, this may not be the actual Pokรฉmon world, but it's a recurring theme that they respond to positive and protective emotions. Besides, the strength of a loving bond is very real, especially in the mind. Overall This comic went from "immensely satisfying as well as sexy and loving" with Vanessa's turnaround and her growing bond with Rookie to "a love letter to fans of the Partners series."

To me, the only way to deal w/ being blackmailed is to reveal the truth on your terms. Rookie should tell Vanessa and then their boss what's happening and accept the consequences that follow.

One of the truest things a person can hear in life, especially when they're down: "You are alive. You can still do something." Well done, Gamma.
