There really was something deeper about her. I thought first that she just had really bad relationships that left her broken, that was kinda hinted at after she attacked rookie. But this seems little bit worse. I wonder how deep this hole goes.

Wow. I definitely wasn't expecting this. Seeing her paralyzed in fear like this, with the dark lore of her past flooding her mind... it's thrown me for a loop. Despite all the terrible things Mandy has done, I really hope Vanessa doesn't end it. I didn't think Mandy could be redeemed before... but now, I think it's possible. Maybe the people saying "I can fix her" weren't THAT crazy after all...

We're at Part 50. Fifty...you actually did it. Another limit broken. I have to take a second to step back and be amazed it came this far. And my heart has been pounding every time there's been a new page or a WIP. But now it's hammering and I was breathing hard at every word and every image. Can't say I'd ever expected to have added tags over time like "sextortion," "tears of rage," "battle," and most recently "death threat" and "imminent death." But...wow. And then... Again I find myself saying, "What a milestone of a plot point to mark it with." I can feel Vanessa's conviction. And most of all, Mandy's fear. Her self-hatred. Her...readiness to die. I mentioned when Vanessa first rushed her that I wondered if she was really just ready to die, win or lose. But by now I was sure I was wrong. Maybe I wasn't. I mentioned elsewhere that all Mandy seems to understand is power and control. And that her battle training/experience could involve being an unwilling combatant and/or in underground/illicit/outright illegal battles. But...again, wow. That said...if she really has a death wish...Vanessa and, possibly, Alex are in a wish-granting mood. And from their perspectives, killing her has gone past self-defense at this point, and they're under no obligation to spare her as far as I'm concerned. Be nice if they did. Be safer if they didn't. Time to see if Mandy's wish is granted. I'm going to need to practice breathing for the next part. Wild-prediction-of-the-now: Whatever the exact nature of Vanessa's sword, it's made of psychic energy. It interacts with whatever power lets Pokรฉmon do their things, like slicing through a Shadow Ball, deflecting Psyshock blasts, and piercing a Reflect, but it's not necessarily a physical object. Imagine if she goes for a killing blow and really does expect it to kill Mandy, hits Mandy in the head, but instead of striking physically, it destroys her psychic powers, maybe forever. Or if you want to get really wild, connects their minds for a moment and they can see into each other's memories. Just for a moment, but they suddenly get otherwise impossible perspective on each other.

As a complete aside, I suddenly realize that I do not remember many male Pokemon or female humans in this extended series. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong of course. Is it that men are born human and women born Pokemon in this 'verse? Because that'd be a really interesting sociological thought experiment.

In the way of Mass Effect, this can go three ways. ( i know it can be more, but I'm not texting all that, lol.) 1- cut her head off(renegade) 2- forgive her and explain that she lost mentally and physically and don't push yourself luck. (Paragon) 3- Mandy pay as being as a "pet" for their "fun" ( synthesis) or in this case (Gooner)
