So...Mandy actually made a smart and right choice after all by just accepting it was over. I still have my doubts that what Vanessa said got through to her, given what's happened with her just now in the comic and what happened in her life to lead her here. But I opened this page bracing for her to take the chance she was being given to have any life at all after this and just piss it away. And I let out such a sigh of relief at seeing the first panel. Along with a laugh. Sorry, Alex. I know this is Vanessa and Alex's story, not Mandy's, no matter how major of a player she is. But it does make me a little more optimistic that Vanessa's words weren't wasted...and yet, she isn't done. Now my imagination is going to swirl for a few days at wondering what else Vanessa may have to say. A warning that she's being given a chance to learn a better way to get back the life she really wants, not this fate that she brought on herself? A reminder that she doesn't have unlimited chances and she's already gotten more than most? Maybe even some encouragement that Mandy was wrong about herself in one big way: She may be weak in her mind and heart now, but to have survived what she did, especially when she had no one to turn to but herself as a child, and still spent so long resisting becoming what she became shows she's much stronger than she gives herself credit for, so she can stop being a monster if she's really going to change? I was sure they were done, but...once again, I can't wait. (Not really asking, more wondering/musing, but does this mean we might someday get Trance Vanessa and Mega/Kirlia Mandy emojis? :3)
