When I saw the WIP, I suspected that Kami made that face because Kath mentioned her husband (even her mane bristled, that’s a nice detail). I just hope Kath can help her now, Kami really needs it D':

Alrighty, it’s time for that therapist session. There’s no better relief than releasing mutual trauma, crying it all out, and hugging the other person. Still, seeing Kat’s teary eyes hurt me, you’re doing a great job Gamma, I need more emotion and angst.

just the eyes alone say a lot (as spooky as it is that Kami looked angry in the bottom left panel before easing up again) it's hard to know what to say or do in times like these, but letting someone know you're there for them if they need you is the best you can do sometimes

AND it only happened a year ago, so it's...pretty fresh, I say as someone who really doesn't know what it's like for either of them. Whatever happens next, whether Kat is someone who can talk, someone who can listen, someone who can just keep showing up, or someone who can give room when it's needed, this is going to count for a lot. Still liking the other directions this story is going, still liking how I would say this time, whatever kind of partnership results, they're shaping up to both be the Dauntless Partners.
