Happy Wednesday, Addie. Blade Runner 2049 is DEFINITELY a good sequel. I did watch this movie in IMAX 1.90:1, when it first came out in theaters and I enjoyed it. This and The Fall Guy (2024) are my all-time favorite Ryan Gosling movies.

Rich

Awesome movie. Looking forward to checking this out!

JDV

Yayyy this is my favorite sci-fi movie.

Happy Wednesday, Addie! I've been looking forward to this one ever since you watched the first "Blade Runner" last week. This is one of my favorite movie sequels. Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling have great on-screen chemistry. Definitely looking forward to watching this one later this evening. For more Ryan Gosling, I very highly recommend(if you haven't seen it yet) "The Notebook"(2004) and "The Gray Man"(2022). Have a great day today! 😊

Glad you enjoyed this movie. I hated it. It’s not for everyone

Awesome! Also... There are 3 prequel short Blade Runner films that are canon. "Blade Runner 2022: Black Out" "Blade Runner 2036: Nexus Dawn" "Blade Runner 2048: Nowhere To Run" They are produced by the studio and came out around the same time as Blade Runner 2049. They are two live-action and one animated, all with an intro from Denis Villeneuve himself. You get to see more of what was going on with Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista) and Wallace (Jared Leto) leading up to 2049. You can find them on YouTube!

She has seen The Notebook (2004). However, I also suggest the Extended Version of The Fall Guy (2024). #TheFallGuyMovieForAddieCounts

Interesting. I didn't hate it, but neither did I love it, as many commenters seem to say. I thought it was a solid, if unspectacular, sequel.

The best parallel this movie had to the first one was "K" dying at the very end on the steps with the snow falling to bring you back to that last scene in Original Blade Runner where it was raining and Roy died. Same feeling, both characters ended up doing the morally right things in the end before death.

Steve Mercier

“Dying for the right cause is the most human thing we can do.”

I have seen this movie thru a bunch of reactors but it was in this viewing that I noticed a cool little clue that Joe was not the child which I never noticed before. In the orphanage the boy's heads were all shaved but not the girls, in Joe's memory the child had hair.

I didn't notice that until you pointed it out just now, that is some good attention to detail 👌

There's a really cool character moment in the scene where Wallace kills the new model replicant. Luv cries at the beginning of the scene before we know what is happening and when Wallace is blind. After she plugs in his drones allowing him to see she suppresses her reactions (except at the moment of death) but he keeps one of the drones always focused on her face.

I'm going to have to check out your reaction to this film eventually, but not any time soon. Every time I watch this film, I sob uncontrollably, and I become extremely, emotionally sensitive for weeks before I can rebuild my defenses. It is no exaggeration to say that this is my favorite film of all time, and I have seen a great, great many. No other movie has ever spoken to my heart quite like this one. This film is just beyond incredible for me.
