Let's give Addie a round of applause for officially completing the ENTIRE Bourne trilogy with The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). 👏👏🎉🎉 Happy Monday. This is another case of when the sequels keep getting better and better. I've only seen bits & pieces of this movie but hardly remember anything about it, so I plan on watching all three Bourne movies soon. Like I have with the first two movies, I also own this one in both Widescreen (2.39:1) & Full Screen (1.33:1) formats.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 This is the only "Bourne" movie that I haven't seen. But I've heard that it's really good. Definitely looking forward to watching this later this evening. Another Matt Damon movie that I've been meaning to recommend is the 2000 "The Legend of Bagger Vance". Have a great day today! 😊

Another franchise I'd wanted you to react to in the books! 👍👍 ✅ "Back to the Future" trilogy ✅ "Jurassic Park" trilogy ✅ Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy ✅ Middle-Earth saga ✅ George Lucas' Star Wars saga ✅ Steven Spielberg's 4 Indiana Jones movies ✅ Daniel Craig's James Bond pentalogy ✅ original "Die Hard" trilogy ✅ National Lampoon's "Vacation"/"Christmas Vacation" ✅ "Gremlins" duology ✅ "Blade Runner" duology ✅ first 3 Jason Bourne movies 🟥 "2001: A Space Odyssey"/"2010: The Year We Make Contact" 🟥 George A. Romero's first 2 "Living Dead" movies 🟥 first 2 Christopher Reeve "Superman" movies 🟥 original "Mad Max" trilogy 🟥 "Naked Gun" trilogy 🟥 Tim Burton's 2 "Batman" movies Of course, there are also about 8 or 9 franchises you've left in limbo to which I'd like you to react to 1 or 2 more outings (well, and the whole rest of the James Bond series), but I don't know if you'll ever end up watching them... and there are also about a dozen or so other franchises I wouldn't mind seeing you react to, but they probably aren't popular/well-known enough to ever win a poll. 🤔

I'm probably in the minority by saying this. I thought Jason Bourne(2016) was a movie worth watching.

Glad you loved this series! These movies are like, mission impossible but if the main character lost his memory. I can't wait for you to start that franchise Addie! You are gonna see just how insane Tom Cruise can be with his stunts on camera.

Really excited for you to start the Mission: Impossible movies now. The second one is pretty awful, but if you haven't seen the Hitchcock classic NOTORIOUS, it likely won't seem as bad since M:I-2 is an atrocious ripoff of that movie.

Byrd N. Hand

I haven't seen it, but I gather the general consensus is that Bourne isn't nearly as interesting when he actually knows who he is. 🤔

So fun to rewatch these with you, Addie. The 4th film (Bourne Legacy) has some connective tissue which may be interesting to you and I enjoyed it well enough but watch that and Jason Bourne as you see fit. I think this trilogy is a great, clean complete package but I’m not one to eschew another’s curiosity or interests. And as others have been commenting, the Mission: Impossible franchise is so fun with the series finding its’ signature and stride at #4 (I’ve liked them all, just took time for them to settle on a style). For the most part, the films get better and better with no truly weak films and only 1 which has some polarization due to how different the filmmaking is from the others totally and stylistically.

Mister Lou

I love this franchise! and may be one of the few who also enjoys The Bourne Legacy. Hope you give it a chance

Yes, there are two more Bourne movies, but Matt Damon is only in one of them and honestly they're FAR inferior to this trilogy. You're perfectly fine stopping right here :) I love the subtle hint there may have been something between Nicky & Jason before he lost his memory. Or at least, that she had feelings for him.

Steve Mercier

The best of the best...the Morocco sequence...from the explosion to Desh hunting Nicky to Bourne evading the police and leaping through windows, all culminating in that spectacular fight...is just one of the best action sequences I've ever seen...and, of course, the rest of this movie is awesome, too.

The Dingo

Did you recognize the actor playing Marie's brother? He's the same actor who played Zemo in Captain America: Civil War and in the Falcon & Winter Soldier series

Daniel Bruhl. He was also Private Zoller in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. One of his earliest starring roles is in the German film Good Bye Lenin! a lovely comedy-drama in which he plays a young east German man just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, who must keep the communist's defeat a secret from his fragile mother (who he fears will die if she hears the news).

Jacob King

This is a fun one. I like how each in Bourne movie the conspiracy moves up a rank though I do think the ending where the director gets arrested is a bit of a cop out. One of the original paranoid CIA movies, Three Days of the Condor, does it much better. The screenwriter, Tony Gilroy, wrote and directed the incredible legal thriller Michael Clayton after this and it has a lot of the same twistyness and holding back information that you liked here. Much better than The Bourne Legacy.

They actually did mention "Blackbriar" before. In the very last scene of the first movie Abbott (I believe) is in front of a Congressional committee, going over all of the projects they are funding. He talks about Treadstone first, dismissing it as a mundane program that they were discontinuing and thus no longer need funding for it. Then he picks up the next folder and says something like, "the next one is... Blackbriar," then he starts to explain what it is and why they need funding for it as the scene fades out. Turns out he both lied about the nature of Treadstone and about the fact that Blackbriar was just a direct replacement.

@Addie Trouble with the Curve (2012). Her name is Mickey!

The second Bourne movie is my overall favorite, but the whole part in this one where Jason is helping the journalist outmaneuver the CIA is one of my favorite sequences in almost any spy movie I've ever seen. There's a sequence very much like it in another movie (I won't spoil it by saying which one). I personally would recommend both "The Bourne Legacy" and "Jason Bourne." Whether you watch them for the channel or not is up to you of course, but at least watch them in your own time. I won't say they're on the same level as the original trilogy, but they're still entertaining. I hope you enjoy the "Mission Impossible" movies. They are a lot of fun. I like the Bourne series better because they're a little more grounded in reality, but the MI movies are still excellent for the most part. I hope the coming weekend is a good one for you. Looking forward to watching your reaction to "The Patriot" later today if I can. ✌️🤓

I'm back from the Wedding trip and going to try to catch up to you. This was a great start to my return.
