Look out, world. Addie's getting her mojo on! 😁

Randee Carreno

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 This is such a hilarious movie. This one is my favorite of the "Austin Powers" trilogy. Definitely looking to watching this reaction later this evening. For more Mike Meyers I very highly recommend the 1992 movie "Wayne's World" if you haven't seen already. Have a great day today! 😊

Happy groovy Monday, Addie. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997) is definitely going to be one shagadelically fun time. I own the original 1997 DVD with the 1.33:1 Full-Screen version on Side A and the 2:1 Widescreen version on Side B. I should watch this movie tonight or later. BTW, I can tell that your intro to Mike Myers was in Shrek (2001). That movie was also my intro to him. Stay groovy, Addie.

Here's some groovy behind the scenes footage. https://youtu.be/mHRTpXmALM4?feature=shared

We should get Addie on a new series of movies, like Fast and Furious trilogy or American Pie, I’m new here, so idk where to go to request some stuff🤷🏻‍♂️😐

Byrd N. Hand

Well, now we have yet another franchise to add to the current bottleneck. 🤔 Maybe make sure in the next few polls that every single title in them is a definite standalone movie? 🤨

Alex Tan

Don't worry. She said that she doesn't plan on watching the Austin Powers sequels, as exemplified on her latest poll that this movie has won. If any, she should consider doing a poll regarding the remaining franchises she put on hold so we can decide which one she must finish.

Alex Tan

Partytime excellent, Randee. Addie's definitely gonna have a lot of fun with Wayne's World (1992). #WaynesWorldForAddieCounts

Well, you *know* there are going to be people clamoring for her to finish the trilogy (especially on YT). I doubt very many would've cared about her not also watching the "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Police Academy" sequels -- or "Blues Brothers 2000." And there might've been at least some interest in "Crocodile Dundee II," but probably not the third one. 🤷‍♂️

Addie, you picked the one triliogy you should continue despite you saying you won't. the 2nd movie is even better and the story isn't even concluded in this the first movie. I really want you to at least watch the 2nd film. Mike Myers playes multiple character in each movie too, would be cool to see if you can spot him. He plays Dr Evil and Austin Powers in this one. Each film he plays another character on top of the two main ones. Either way, not saying you need to continue right away but at least make it a plan. These films are so fun, all 3 and even the 3rd one is very fun.

Byrd N. Hand

Granted, she initially said she wouldn't go beyond the first "Godfather," either... but she got inundated with requests to do Part II, which she ultimately did -- so never say never. The problem is, right now, she also has a bunch of other franchises in limbo beyond the M:I and POTA series to potentially continue: "Mad Max," "Naked Gun," "Dirty Harry," "Ocean's," "Karate Kid," and Jack Ryan, at the very least. Maybe also "Beverly Hills Cop," given the recent release of the latest outing? (She also still hasn't watched "Kung Fu Panda 4.")

Jon Anderson

I'll be honest, I'm not a massive Mike Myers fan and I could do without the sequels... but I like to revisit this sometimes because it's such a clever little movie. Mike wrote it as a love letter to the movies and TV shows he used to watch with his dad, and though he's older than me, it seems we grew up watching many of the same things. So there's a great genius bonus if you can spot the references, but it's funny enough on its own terms if you don't. Not many movies can work on two levels.

Addie would have made a great Miss Kensington!

Alex Tan

I'm aware. That's why I would love to see a poll regarding the remaining franchises that are on hold.

Terry Lee

I love it in every video when there is music that makes Addie do a little jig dance side-to-side, it is so cute! ^_^

SavageDiplomat

You dont need to watch the bond movies for the sequel. The bond movie references are predominantly in this film. You will love the sequel just as much as this one for sure.

Doug

I love how Austin Powers is Britain's Top "Secret" Agent and then the very next scene is him being chased by his hordes of fans while leading a parade. 😄

Byrd N. Hand

I can take or leave the Austin Powers movies, and I never saw the third one, so I wouldn't watch her reaction to that one anyway.

Byrd N. Hand

Well, she didn't watch any of the early Bond movies for this one, either (thus, the *real* jokes behind Random Task and the name 'Alotta Fagina' going over her head, as well as Dr. Evil's hazmat suit later in the movie, among others), so it's a moot point. 🤷‍♂️

Thats MR. Baldamort

@byrd She was laughing through the whole movie dude, she clearly dont need to see the Bond films. She loved it.. Several reactors havnt seen them and still loved this film. Who cares if SOME jokes went over her head. You dont need to get every joke to still love the vast majority of the humor. She understood it was a spoof film. I hope she watches the 2nd in due time.

Randolph Tirazona

Not sure but after one of these I just couldn't stomach it anymore...

Andrew Roach

Indeed you should watch the entire Powers trilogy, my favorite is the third one which is pretty impressive as usually by a third movie the steam has ran out but not here. Indeed, without giving anything away the third opens with one of the greatest comedic shocks of all time. And yes this movie contains all the Bond references so that is not an issue for the rest. I don't think this is spoilers to note the Bond references, if so read no further: Dr. Evil is a play on the infamous Bond villain Blofeld who also has a cat. The chairs of death is straight from Bond. No. 2 with the eye patch is a villain straight from Bond. The crazy names, like Alotta, mimic Bond girls. Random Task is a play on the famous Bond henchman Odd Job who actually throws his hat as a weapon. Seth Green making a point to just get a gun and kill Austin is a play on all of Bond where that is all the villains need to do but never does, instead they hatch elaborate plans to kill Bond, but of course that is the fun of Bond. The plastic "space suit" Evil wears at the end is a direct replica of a suit worn by the villain in the first Bond film in 1962. I'm sure I've missed some as well.

Byrd N. Hand

Well, she might want to watch them someday, but, by then, she probably won't remember these details.

Byrd N. Hand

It's interesting how some people care so much about a reactor seeing one particular thing before seeing another in some instances, but then don't give a shit about it in others... 🤷‍♂️

SavageDiplomat

Well to be fair when a movie is a spoof of another movie or franchise it makes perfect sense for the reactor to watch at least enough to understand the jokes in the spoof otherwise it generally effects the quality of the reaction. Its like watching Scary Movie 1 without watching Scream 1. You may not enjoy it as much or just think its completely dumb. Luckily Austin Powers doesnt really suffer from that as much since most people who watch this without watching James Bond still have heard of Bond at the very least so they assume this film is just making fun of the spy genre.

Byrd N. Hand

Yes, seeing the original source of a spoof before seeing said spoof is basically turning a reaction up to 11. Why not go for maximum effect??

Cameron Kerby

Hi Addie. I’m so glad you watched this movie and I really hope you come back to the sequels sooner rather than later. Also, as far as sequels go, I really hope you watch Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. That’s the only sequel to that, so it would be easy to wrap up that franchise. And it’s just as good as the first. Anyway, have a great day.

SavageDiplomat

Its just better for all parties involved. Its somewhat disappointing when you watch a reaction to a spoof and the reactor has no clue whats going on. I remember watching a Scary Movie 1 reaction on TrixyBlues channel a while back and she hadnt seen Scream or any of the movies that were refrenced. Safe to say she was completely confused throughout the reaction. Made for a very lackluster reaction since she didnt really find it funny due to not getting the jokes.

Joe Mallard

We need more comedies, because you have a great laugh.
