Happy Wednesday, Addie. It's time to Jingle All the Way (1996) to kick off this year's holiday movie season. I did watch this movie on DVD last night and I enjoyed it. My favorite line is "PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN! NOW!". But that finale was so cool because Howard got to be Turbo Man, in front of his son, Jamie. BTW, if I could come up with a plot twist for that post credits scene, then I believe that Howard DID get his wife a Christmas present while searching for Turbo Man.

I always liked this movie. It is just a lot of fun made more fun by Arnold and Sinbad.

I have FIVE other Arnold Schwarzenegger movies that I'll suggest to you. Kindergarten Cop (1990), another fun movie for you, https://youtu.be/KK0dgJ6j_7M?feature=shared Last Action Hero (1993), which you should watch for the channel, although it's listed on your Letterboxd page, https://youtu.be/OYt8Ye9l7fs?feature=shared Eraser (1996), Arnold's other 1996 movie, https://youtu.be/GZNhdAuUhpA?feature=shared End of Days (1999), an action/horror movie for either New Year's or next Halloween, https://youtu.be/B2JQRyyaiSQ?feature=shared and The 6th Day (2000), a sci-fi action movie. https://youtu.be/SPdm4rWFfMw?feature=shared #MoreArnoldSchwarzeneggerForAddieCounts

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 This is a fun holiday movie. It's always a must-watch for me during the Christmas holidays. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

My 5 would be "Conan the Barbarian," "Commando," "The Running Man," "Twins," and "Terminator 3."

I might've liked this if I were 5-10 years younger... or if it had come out 5-10 years earlier. But both Jamie *and* (especially) Howard's wife *not* being able to tell it was him in that Turbo Man costume (even with that unmistakeable accent) has to potentially be the most intelligence-insulting scene I've ever seen in a movie. The 'rabid reindeer' was pretty stupid, too. 🤔🤔 For a far better Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy, I'd highly recommend "Twins." For a far better (semi-)Christmas-themed movie filmed in my great home state of Minnesota, I'd highly recommend "Grumpy Old Men."

Just a year later, Arnold Schwarzenegger would play Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin (1997). For anyone who really wants to meet Mr. Freeze, I recommend watching Heart of Ice from Batman: The Animated Series (1992). This episode won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program and reinvented the character, introducing his now-iconic appearance and origin story. Unfortunately, Batman & Robin did zero justice to the storyline and characters that Heart of Ice so brilliantly brought to life. At least Jingle All The Way is a fun film, oddly enough. It's a better Superhero film as well lol

Anyone know what version this is?

Jasbro

She mentions its the theatrical release in the description.

Btw the giant Santa was Paul Wight aka the big show who was a wrestler

Since the reference didn't mean anything to you, Addie, it might be time to watch Vertigo (1958).:D

Philip Davetas

Like this flick, but only with my son. I wouldn't watch it on my own.

I had surgery today, I was expecting '2001: A Space Odyssey' but this was a pleasant and a welcome surprise. Thank you Addie. 'Jingle All the Way' isn't very good looking back at it but Arnie makes the film and those quotable lines. "Put the cookie down now!" Haha!! Oh and justice for Booster.

Kyle

I hope everyone yelled out, "It's Turbo Time!" before starting the reaction.

Byrd N. Hand

While I consider that one his most overrated film, I'd definitely love to see more Hitchcock on the channel. I was hoping "The Birds" would've made the cut in October.

Byrd N. Hand

I think she said that one and "A Few Good Men" would come out closer to the end of the month to make room for more holiday-centric movies.

Tick Macphee

Yeah, had the same reaction. It’s a directors cut and it’s not much different.

Want to know what else is intelligence insulting? Clark Kent. literally how can you say that, yet like superman? Nobody recognizes Clark Kent is superman with simple stupid glasses and nobody complains. Tutbo Man has a whole ass helmet and visor. This is the same trope. Sure this trope in this movie isnt done as well but still the same idea none the less. So not sure what your issue with this part of the movie other than to be a tad hypocritical lol.

Byrd N. Hand

Clark Kent also wasn't a hulking guy with a thick Austrian accent living in middle America. 😛 While I can't speak for all Superman adaptations, at least in the original movies with Christopher Reeve, Reeve managed to fairly effectively disguise Superman's appearance more through his physicality and demeanor, portraying Clark as a naïve, awkward, bumbling pushover -- the polar opposite of his true identity. Surely the last thing the average person is going to be thinking about someone who gives off those kind of vibes is, 'That guy is totally Superman.' 🤷‍♂️ (And, even so, Lois still figured it out by the second movie.)

This is another VERY FUNNY Christmas movie from the 90's!😉🤣

Luis Fernandez

The Birds freaks me the heck out but I love it and I'd love to see Addie react to it. It might be suitable for an after Thanksgiving watching... a sort of birds getting their revenge for their fallen turkey brethren.

Justin

Always a fun Christmas movie with Arnold. Its thanks to this movie that I purposely taught myself the alphabet backwards. 🤣😅
