Had that same reaction when I took my kids to it in the theater.

Pharrell Williams also has a documentary in Lego form. It’s called Piece By Piece.

Happy Monday, Addie. This is an awesome surprise. I'm so glad that you enjoyed The Lego Movie (2014) as your FIRST animated movie of 2025. This is also a good palette cleanse for you, after having been emotionally moved by 1917 (2019). Just recently, I got into building Legos because my girlfriend got me two Lego sets for Christmas, a Stitch and a tiger, and another one for my birthday, a Walt Disney Tribute Camera.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 This is a fun movie to watch on a Monday. This is one that I always have to watch whenever it's on tv. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

My daughter and I saw this in the theater, and we had so much fun. We were walking around for weeks singing that everything is awesome song. She even wrote it on the dry erase board in the kitchen, and it stayed there till I sold the house. Good memories.

This is absolutely an AWESOME way to start the week!! The attention to detail is just crazy!! I have put together a small Mandalorian and Grogu set and it was pretty detailed! Fun stuff but oh so addicting and expensive!!

I remembered this movie was awesome but I forgot how awesome! 😄 It really is up there with my favorites of all time. Also looking forward to that Batman Lego rewatch, I recall that was a fun one too. 🙂

I like to imagine that Will Ferrell's character was an outcast as a kid with a rough home life, and that his only joy was playing alone with his Legos. Then growing up he never made friends and spent years alone longing for human connection; he had few happy moments but he always had his Legos. Then as an adult he got a crummy job with an overbearing boss and got into a bad marriage with an abusive wife. Then along comes a kid who guilt-trips him into letting go of the one thing that makes his life bearable. Cut to credits. Everything is Awesome.

Favorite fun movie fact: Liam Neeson was only cast to play Bad Cop, but he told the producers that he could also play Good Cop. They let him try the voice and were convinced he could play both.

It’s lots of fun. I don’t love the ending, I feel like the dad got off too easily but that’s partly an issue with fusing the two stories together. It’s a little crazy how it’s just The Matrix. Lego Batman is a good follow up.

LEGO was my favorite toy as a kid. I never followed the instructions because I just preferred to build whatever my imagination wanted. Now a days they are just too expensive and have too many branded sets. Would prefer if they just had the generic themes.

Has anyone mentioned you should see Jerry Maguire before Lego Batman?

I think my favorite part is the crack in Benny's space helmet. If you ever had one of those from the 70s/80s, you know they pretty much all crack in the same spot eventually. Such a nice, tiny detail.
