Here's the full length reaction to Rocky IV! I feel like I can't talk about this movie without spoilers, so... Warning: spoilers ahead!!

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

(I've typed "spoilers" so many times that it doesn't look like a real word anymore haha)

I feel like Apollo deserved a better ending than this :( The relationship between Rocky and Creed is such an important part of the Rocky movies (their relationship in the third one was BEAUTIFUL), and this movie felt like it moved on from his death too quickly. I mean yes, Rocky did decide to fight Drago because of Creed, but I feel like the movie didn't spend a lot of time showing Rocky grieving over Creed the way that the third movie showed Rocky grieving over Mickey. Maybe it's because I loved this character so much, but I just feel like he deserved a better ending!!! There's no Rocky without Apollo.

And of course, rest in peace Carl Weathers.

Happy Monday, Addie. The Rocky road continues with Rocky IV (1985). The death of Apollo Creed was the most heartbreaking moment in this movie, since Carl Weathers (RIP always) passed away recently. I'm with you here, Creed deserved better. And Drago really deserves that "How dare you!" comment for saying that "if [Creed] dies, he dies." BTW, nice Rocky T-shirt.

I agree with you 100 percent about Apollo. If it’s any consolation, the first “Creed” (2015) movie seems to attempt to make up for Apollo’s loss. It’s an excellent movie. And Carl Weather's death was a total shock to me. Yes... RIP, Mr. Weathers.

To all who's curious about which version this is, Addie is watching the theatrical cut of Rocky IV.

PHILLIP CORNISH

You got to love a bit of James brown.

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 Loving the new Rocky shirt. Not going to lie, I've been both looking for to you getting to this movie and dreading it. Looking forward to it because it's one of my favorites in the Rocky/Creed franchise. And dreading it after losing Carl Weathers(RIP always) so suddenly last week. Creed's death scene is going to hit so much differently now. 😔 Fun Fact: Brigitte Nielsen(who plays Drago's wife), was Sylvester Stallone's real life ex-wife. They met on the set of this movie. Got married when the movie was in post-production. And were only married for 19 months. Fun, but Scary Fact: For the fight scenes between Rocky and Drago, Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren did some actual boxing. And Dolph hit Stallone so hard at one point that he had to go to the hospital. The "Hearts on Fire"(sung by the amazing John Cafferty) montage is my top favorite Rocky/Creed training montage, tied with the Rocky 3 one. Up next is "Rocky 5". Have a great day today! 😊

I've never seen anyone react to the director's cut. Is there a DC reaction out there?

PHILLIP CORNISH

Omg Carl Weather's passed? For real. Did not know. God bless him. 😒

BubblyRainbows

I didn't realize that Carl Weathers died until reading the comments here. Somehow, I missed that one on social media. He was also Dillon in "Predator," and was the title character in his own action movie called "Action Jackson."

Joe Mallard

If you want to see Rocky grieve properly, you need to watch the directors cut. The funeral scene is way more impactful, Rocky's speech makes me cry every time. "I owe everything I've got to you." 😭

LightsCameraJake

Just wait until you get to the "creed" movies. They make his death more impactfull. Hope you react to the whole series. This a journey, some better than others but they are all good films:) But the directors cut has the grieving in it. I wished you watched that one. it's worth a reaction just to that funeral scene they cut. It's more impactful and it still angers me they cut it from the theatrical.

Julian San

If I could, I would give Addie a big ol’ hug and tell her everything’s gonna be alright.

PHILLIP CORNISH

Great reaction Addie. Four was the last for me due to starting a family so I hope you continue the series so I can follow along. Hope you taking some some time to enjoy valatines day with J so see you Friday 😘

How about a boxing episode of “What if?” Drago doesn’t kill Apollo but after their fight he is not the same person as a result of the fight. The rest of the movie proceeds the same, Rocky wins, Apollo joins them in the ring, and as Rocky finishes, Apollo and Drago shake hands and all is well. For Carl Weathers, let’s say it ends that way for him. You were completely wrapped up in your ending thoughts it’s easy to miss bringing it up but how about the soundtrack for this one? E P I C ! ! ! ! ! From start to finish! I remember the part that I hated was the first training montage with that an instrumental but now it’s pretty d@mn cool. Then we get “Hearts on Fire” for the next and that took it to another level!! Great video, Addie!

Andrew Roach

1985 may have been Stallone's best year with not one but two big hit movies: Rocky IV and earlier Rambo II. I think Back To The Future earned more though. Glad to hear Stallone's DC fixed or at least improved grieving over Creed. I know another thing he did was to completely remove a certain "item" from the movie. His next movie, Cobra, was not well regarded and also starred his wife.

Joe Mallard

You get more of Rocky and Adrian together in the directors cut too.

Byrd N. Hand

I'm honestly more familiar with "Weird Al" Yankovic's parody, "Living with a Hernia." 🤨

Byrd N. Hand

Ironically, this is still the only "Rocky" movie that I've seen in its entirety (albeit not since it first came out on video).

Philip Davetas

You will find out who wins the third fight between A and R eventually. Now watch the ROCKY IV director's cut damn it. Not for us for yourself.

Philip Davetas

ROCKY V (5) is not my favorite. But it's got the best line in motion picture history. "Get up, ya son of a bitch, because Mickey loves ya!"

Byrd N. Hand

I'm pretty sure "Rocky V" is almost universally regarded as the weakest outing in the series.

Chris Capitano

I literally can’t wait for to see the creed movies. I think you’re gonna like em.
