Alternate title: falling in love with him! :')

I'm finally understanding what the hype is all about. I should have jumped on this fandom train sooner!!

This would've been on YouTube and posted as an embed link, but YouTube is going crazy with copyright for some reason?? I was told that it was a separate short film, and it appears that way. I didn't have any trouble posting "Chase Me", but if anyone can verify the following..

It blocks the video on all channels (even unmonetized) and states it's from: Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam (2010) ASSET Full Movie Master

No clue what that movie is, and would appreciate any help 🫶

Regardless: enjoy~!

I think Superman/Shazam may have been the DC animated movie that the Green Arrow short was attached to. It's also kind of ironic that Neal McDonough voiced Green Arrow in this short since he later had a recurring role in the Arrow TV show.

Great introduction to the character! Can’t wait for his JLU episodes and injustice 2!

Ur timing with this video is actually perfect because ur already gonna watch justice league unlimited anyway and ollie is one of the standout characters from that show like literally probably the best character from it. Then obviously ur gonna do injustice 2 and ollie is also one of the main characters there too so you’ll explore black canary and green arrow a lot soon enough. Then of course there’s the 8 season Arrow tv show but green arrow is very inaccurate in that he’s a dark and brooding character that kills people with his arrows and its a very cw esque show but u do get to see a lot of classic arrow villains in that show like merlyn and etc. and there are a lot of amazing episodes but arrow just feels like more like a batman bootleg in that unlike this amazing animated short. so this short and jlu capture his personality and morals perfectly. Outside of that there are of course several other dc animated shows and films that ollie has a supporting role in too so ur in for a long ride

So for the "History of Green Arrow" you watched, it is a much older video since it only covers his history from the beginning up to the New 52 as since DC's Rebirth initiative in 2016 up until the current All In intiative, Oliver Queen has a green hooded costume and his iconic goatee back (similar to what he has in the showcase video you watched). But the rest of what you saw in this video is pretty much the same when it comes to his origin. The fictional city of Star City that Green Arrow operates in is usually in Washington and actually since Rebirth, the city was actually Seattle but renamed to Star City. One other thing not mentioned is that Green Arrow/Oliver Queen and his sidekick Speedy/Roy Harper were at one point part of a team called the Seven Soldiers of Victory around the time of their creation in 1941. They were a team that included lesser known characters such as Vigilante, Star-Spangled Kid, Stripesy, Shining Knight, and Crimson Avenger. That comic run the video mentions Green Arrow has with Hal Jordan Green Lantern, I believe besides the story that Oliver discovers Roy's heroin addiction, there's another story contained in it called Hard Traveling Heroes that is basically Oliver and Hal going on a road trip across America to explore social issues and the idea of the "American Dream". It's something I've seen fans mostly enjoy and maybe you'd love it too. Some things that are not mentioned in regards to Speedy/Roy Harper is that he is a founding member of the Teen Titans and as for the Outlaws team that his mentioned to be in with Red Hood and Starfire, he ends up leaving the team at some point, as well as Starfire but for different reasons and a new incarnation of the team with Red Hood, Bizarro and an Amazon named Artemis forms and I think you might like it since you love Bizarro. I won't go much more into Roy's origin since there is a separate "History of" video for him that I'll share. For Black Canary, I couldn't find a great video of her origin so I'll just say that Dinah Laurel Lance is the second Black Canary after her mother Dinah Drake who was a member of the Justice Society of America. Dinah Lance was trained by her mother and another hero who was also part of he JSA, Wildcat/Ted Grant in fighting and she is considered one of the most formidable fighters in DC as she's gone up against other elite fighters and assassins. Dinah is also a singer and was in a band that shared the name of her superhero name, Black Canary. She is also a founding member of the team known as the Birds of Prey alongside Barbara Gordon/Oracle and Huntress/Helena Bertinelli. Her relationship with Oliver is one that fans like myself adore as their dynamic is so amazing. Also if you were wondering how she got her sonic scream or as she calls it, the Canary Cry that we see her use at the end of the Showcase, that was from her having a meta gene, similar to how mutants in Marvel have the mutant gene in them that gives them their powers and in turn makes them mutants or in DC's case makes them metahumans Also in regards to the Showcase video, the Showcase was a series of short films that focused on certain characters and were bonus features on some DC animated movie DVDs. For the context to the Superman/Shazam: Return of Black Adam movie, that movie is actually a Showcase short film itself but it also contains other Showcase films that focus on characters like The Spectre, Jonah Hex and of course the one you watched Green Arrow. I wouldn't mind a reaction to the Superman/Shazam movie since it does briefly cover Shazam's origin and if you skip the Green Arrow one (or want to watch it again), you get to learn more about characters like Spectre and Jonah Hex, two characters I don't think you've met at all

I had to look up when McDonough did this short, it was before his appearance in the first Captain America film. A lot of actors in DC and Marvel. Can't wait to see her reaction to Injustice 2. I'm still catching up on her animated journey, but can't wait to get to the JL show.
