Good reaction. This is the most well known Teen Titans storyline but also controversial due to the whole Slade/Terra relationship. From what I remember & what you read at the end, the intention was that Terra was written to be a villain in the original story. She never really cared for The Titans despite trying to welcome her to the team. She did die in the comic & the film. The difference is in the comic, she died cause she lost control with her power when trying to kill the team. I think the comic writers clearly didn’t understand that she’s still a victim and manipulated yet state she’s the villain of the story. What George Perez said was gross btw. Later adaptations do make her more relatable/sympathetic. As for Slade, yeah ever since you met him in Arkham Origins I thought about how you will react to that part of his character. Everyone hates him for that yet DC still kept him around after that. When DC reset their timeline (which they do a lot), they tried to avoid that part of his story & eventually turned him more anti-hero but still a villain. His beef with the Titans is more personal in the comics but it does involve his family. The whole thing of being part of the League of Assassins is only in the DCAMU films. He is still their archenemy even though these days he’s also fighting Batman. Most other adaptations of him don’t show the creepy side of him much but even in the Teen Titans animated series, even though it’s a kid show, there’s still some creepy undertones whenever Slade shows up. Still highly recommend the show. Ron Perlman does a fantastic job as Slade.

I also want to talk about the heroes you saw in the beginning. There is Kid Flash who’s usually Wally West who is Barry’s sidekick who later took on the mantle of Flash like in the Justice League show but in this universe, it’s Barry who is still called Flash. Idk why they made the choice to not have it be Wally but ok. There’s Speedy who is Green Arrow’s sidekick, & BumbleBee who think of as DC’s version of The Wasp from Marvel. Both shrink in size and have stingers. The character that replaced Terra at the end is Wondergirl/Donna Troy who is Wonder Woman’s sidekick. In the comics, Donna is one of the OG members of the Titans alongside with Dick’s Robin, Kid Flash, & Aqualad (Aquaman’s protégé). Lastly with Dick’s love life, he’s a ladies man but Barbara & Starfire are his two biggest loves. He was with Kory for most of the 80’s to 90’s but things didn’t work out. Later on, Dick does eventually realize he still loves Barbara and currently, he’s in a serious relationship with her. I like both relationships as I think Dick has chemistry with a lot of characters lol. He’s the goat! 😎
