Batman Beyond The Winning Edge Reaction

I'm so here for this episode! First of all, you're not wrong with the caption that this show is much darker than BTAS. It's not surprising as when BTAS became the New Batman Adventures and the animation got a revamp, the episodes got much darker too. The Mad Love is one example. Much like we found out about where Mr. Freeze was during this time period in his episode, now we know what happened to Bane. It's sad to see him in the state he's in but with the years of using Venom, it's not surprising. In more modern comics, Bane doesn't regularly use Venom anymore as he knows how addictive it can be and the damage it can do to your mind if exposed to for long periods. He also believes it be a weakness and crutch for him and mostly now relies on his combat skills and intelligence. But with this episode, it's kind of crazy but also again not surprising for a show like this to tackle such a mature topic like drug use/drug addiction. But I do agree that people should watch this as an awareness to drugs, especially kids and teens. I'm not really surprised with Bruce not being considerate of Terry's normal life and prioritizing Batman stuff over it. I mean this version of Bruce is very jaded and has pushed away his Batfamily with the only ones he can lean on is his dog Ace and Terry. So him not caring about Terry's sleep schedule isn't odd. Plus we know that Bruce barely ever sleeps because of the training he learned to keep himself alert and awake by only getting like a few hours of sleep. But I'm glad Bruce came at the end to defend Terry to his mom. I'm so glad you're still loving this show. You're starting understand why so many fans adore this show and do consider it to be underrated. It is a shame that WB passed on two pitches for a Batman Beyond movie. One that was live action and the other was animated with the people who worked on the Spiderverse movies working on the animated one. I feel like if it actually happened, it would've garnered new fans of Batman Beyond. I mean like you said the suit itself is so cool and one of the best designs for a Batman suit. Hopefully one day we get a Batman Beyond movie on the big screen. And hopefully it's animated since I feel it would translate better than in live action. I also hope it's still Terry and not someone else cause I can't envision anyone else but him. But I can't wait for the next episode!

Good video. This show was way darker than BTAS which was ironic because when they were developing Beyond with the concept of a teenage Batman, WB wanted the tone to be more light hearted but Bruce Timm and team went the opposite. The show went more darker and some episodes in season 2 and 3 were insane. Bane met a sad fate but one thing about him that not a lot of adaptations don't show a lot was the fact that Bane may be a villain/mercenary but he does have moments of having a code and honor. He even has a soft side. He and Batman both have a sense of justice but Bane has his own crazy way of doing it. Like I do not think Bane would want his formula to be used on children. Like I said, he does have honor/ anti-hero moments. HeroesKey is right in that now a days in the comics, Bane doesn’t rely on Venom much knowing how dangerous it can be.

Terry's moms really thought he was doing drugs, but thanks to Bruce that's been straightened out at the end.

'When my bedpan is full, THEN you have my permission to-Zzz...' Best drug PSA episode ever. Bane kept Venom to himself more out of a desire to monopolize its' power, but he always has had a small soft spot for kids so I doubt he'd ever willingly go along with this. In the comics Bane is often seen experimenting with the formula, trying to figure out a way to retain his enhanced strength without becoming addicted, knowing it is a potential weakness. He is still a mercenary however, so he would be able to afford the best of care at the end of his career. Good contrast between the coach being harsh on his team and how Bruce treats Terry. Bruce has to realize that Terry doesn't have the advantage he had of being a billionaire playboy who can sleep through the day, having to go to school and be Batman at the same time. When I was in high school that alone was enough to wipe me out at the end of the day. It's cute when they put the blanket on Terry at the end of a hard night's work fighting a guy with all of Bane's strength if not his skill. It is a shame DC has paid this era so little attention after the show's cancellation. One awesome animated film but no live-action, one very weak video game but nothing after Arkham Asylum perfected the formula. I wrote a plotline for an Arkham Beyond.
