Lola probably noticed that book in the middle, Volume 5 (Perfect Edition) :D https://www.reddit.com/r/MangaCollectors/comments/upwqsu/super_surprised_how_the_monster_covers_all/#lightbox It’s about 400 pages, covering Chapters 69-86, which comes out to roughly 8.5 episodes. But the cover art doesn’t seem to directly reflect the events in each volume, but rather captures the overall essence of Monster, at least that’s how it feels to me. Volume 2 for example shows a moment in episode 39. By the way, the artwork for these editions is absolutely beautiful!

And Lola was completely right. Tenma was the main character for the last time in Episode 20, and the last time, he appeared, was in Episode 24 during Eva’s double episode. Episode 21 focused on Nina, 22 on Lunge, 23-24 on Eva, and Episodes 25-30 introduced Karl, Schubert, Richard and Dr. Reichwein, with Johan. I'm so excited for the next episodes.

Damn y’all hate the sexiest man on this show Roberto? The sex symbol himself! lol and we kinda of warn you.. is hard to stop watching this show once you get to this arc so I commend you both of you girls for even picking stopping points. I remember watching this whole anime in a week and the only reason why it took me even a week is because life and work was getting in the way of me watching this show in one sit lol

Yeah, I even told them Episodes 25-74, since it’s really hard to find a clean stopping point. Even Episode 29 was like it could be a fitting pause since the arc’s introduction wraps up there, but it still ends on a cliffhanger. So many stuff is happening in the next 10 episodes, it's insane.

I think you missed something important during the verbal exchange between Roberto and Reichwein. It's not your fault because I believe everyone misses it. Roberto talked about everything inside of him feeling like a dream. He even said, "I killed her... No, I dreamt that I killed her." That can be interpreted in 3 ways I know: him noticing he missed up and fixing it, or deliberately doing it tongue-in-cheek, and or actually feeling it was like a dream. Why is this important? Because that's the classic presentation of "derealization". It's a common symptom in many mental disorders, like PTSD and others. It's coupled with depersonalization usually. It's even its own disorder if it happens consistently. But then he said, "Until I met that beautiful blonde boy." He said Johan made him feel things were real again. That likely means Johan helped him treat it, which suggests that Johan is likely familiar with the sorts of mental disorders that happen. From just a few sentences, we learned a lot.
