Hey Pups!

I really struggled with this one 😅 I think it might be my first "Enemies to Lovers" script and it was difficult. I think the trope itself has so much room for character development, but when you're trying to fit that in to a one-shot audio, it can feel a little rushed.

I think this is okay. I'm not 100% convinced that it would happen this quickly, but I've done my best. Would love to know what you think!

Enjoy :D

It was very fast. But it was because Jax cracked so quickly. He was barely irritating before he showed a softer side (feeling betrayed at getting dismissed), showing admiration (listener works the machine), and defending the listener from abuse. It felt more like a coming to terms with one's sexuality story. Which isn't bad, but probably what you weren't going for. I actually thought that the enemies bit was going to be the criminal that was being searched for (before we heard the actual case). The first episode of Warlord's Bride or Legend of a Prince felt more like enemies to lovers. The characters had more than social dislike, there was animosity. A desire to do PHYSICAL harm, even kill the other person because of their respective situations being on opposite sides of conflict that has called on the listener to resort to violence. This was good, but it was more bully and bullied to lovers. The listener didn't engage in the shitty behavior, just was the victim.

Also, the volume was perfect in this audio.

Really astute commentary! I think you're totally right and maybe I'll adjust the tagging when I post publicly. Enemies to Lovers is really quite difficult to portray given that there's an element of animosity required from both parties - given the listener doesn't "speak" That's incredibly difficult to portray in a one-shot. This was great feedback, stuff to think about the next time this tag comes up, thank you 😊

Happy to help. Love your work. My suggestion for your style to do Enemies to Lover is to start in the middle of the relationship. Have your speaker do a bit of exposition to reveal what the listener has done to earn the moment you create. It'll be monologue-y, but a charged moment at sword or dagger point can be really hot. Even better both Speaker and Listener switch moments of trying to dominate the other during the first part (or all) of the sex scene.
