Oh you saw the rainbow and rings post? 🥹 Technically, Huang Xing and Qiu Dingjie didn’t confirm anything in that post (so authorities better not do anything to them istg-) but it’s still such an important move in the sense that it actually led real life gay couples to buy the rings and celebrate their love (there were posts in Chinese social media thanking them both for being brave).

Hua Yong was trying so hard to prevent this exact scenario. It was explained much more thoroughly in the novel but basically, the reason he keeps chaining himself up during every single one of his ruts (and in the novel, modified the room so even an enigma with insane strength like him cant go out) is because he has a condition called mate-seeking syndrome which means he cannot control himself around Shaoyou whenever he’s in rut. This is also why he kept making excuses to leave Shaoyou whenever he’s in rut. Hua Yong did NOT want their first time to be like this, but his instincts won in that moment, unfortunately.

There are timeline issues when it comes to that letter. Hua Yong wrote it BEFORE he went to X hotel (I still dont understand why they chose to show that scene with the mark on Hua Yong’s neck. It made the timeline so confusing). So no, he didn’t write the letter because he’s guilty or felt bad, the whole “Im sacrificing myself for you” is just a convenient excuse for why he’s gone for a few days (while in reality, he’s in rut and spending it locked and chained up in X hotel).
