So how i see it is: Yeowoon is really poor so it's not like he chooses to wear his old shoes but that he can't afford to buy the new ones. I think his pride was hurt because he thought Myungha was pitying him and that's a thing that he's been self conscious about since the first episode. Additionally he's been kinda jealous about Myungha hanging out with other people and i think that it all accumulated into him being mad at Myungha and misinterpreting the situation.
