Not all remakes are bad, like the Resident Evil Remakes, they reimagine the gameplay, characters and plot of the classics while still holding true to them. But sadly there are a few (more than a few!) bad apples in the remake bunch that turn people off from watching/playing/buying them.

Actually most of the best D&D currently is remakes (e.g. the OSR scene or Pathfinder 2). Then again, one thing all of it has in common is being third party material.
