It's basically saying that even as we get closer to society returning to normal - while acknowledging that we still need to do certain things to protect ourselves from COVID - Artur can't keep ignoring his goals for the year. In other words, stop putting your life on hold and start living it again.

Well said. I think the point is that we’re so disgusted and resentful towards all of our intended purposes of 2021 that we’re behaving as if the ongoing issues are limited to just that year and, therefore, we shit all over it without realizing that the pandemic, and all the hell it brings, is still happening. So making the pandemic an excuse for not getting anything done will keep you stuck where you are. Arthur social distancing himself from the year 2021 is a visual diorama of this and that people will continue to act repulsive towards it. Next year, rinse and repeat.
