That's why it's good they had it in the stories that most Mutant "Powers" took till puberty to manifest. Itself a response to decades of speculation that if Superman married Lois she'd die when the baby kicked. They even explored that later but decided he'd need to be near puberty and have sun rays in to get powerful. Pretty clever, funny comic though!

Nightcrawler was born with his blue fur and forked tail, but not his teleportation powers. Similarly, Kitty got her phasing powers when she was 13. Maybe Jago should have gone with Rosemary's Baby? (Demon baby).
