This is some subtle but nasty evil here....

Ryan

If there is one thing that I would NEVER support, it's fat acceptance. Why? It's a dangerous mindset. Being fat can legitimately harm you in the long run, plaguing your body with a ton of health problems, and, if encouraged, can kill you. Also, Clara, if that girl wanted to improve herself, then who the hell are you to tell her she shouldn't to re-inforce YOUR beliefs? That is why feminists on the whole need to piss off.

There's a huge difference between "fat acceptance" and "fat shaming." The former is accepting that people who are overweight are real people too, with real feelings and real problems that may be contributing to *why* they are overweight; the latter is making fat people utter miserable under the guise that you're giving them tough love, when in reality you're just being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk. (And before you claim otherwise, tell me why there is no "smoking shaming" or "drunk shaming" or "drug-use shaming" since all of those practices are just as unhealthy.) There's nothing that says that you can't help an overweight person meet their fitness goals *and* treat them like a decent human being at the same time.
