"Indeed, to live is to trouble others. Your death will be trouble for everyone who's ever loved you." I sobbed, really fucking hard when I read that and when I saw this episode the first time. Theyre words that I could have used when I was younger. They're words I wish I could have said to someone very precious to me. Kuma's story, while the most painful part of this whole god blessed tale, to me is also the most important. His life, his impact on the whole world and the way his spirit never faltered through it all is something I think everyone needs to experience at some point or another, because I think the biggest takeaway from it is how much love and kindness can stand to meet insurmountable odds time and again, and can ultimately change the world. I want to believe in that message more then anything.

I didn't cry on Kuma's backstory till this episode. And now that I'm watching it again I'm also crying again. It hurts in a way that doesn't really feel bad, cause you know it's what Kuma wants and that he accepted his fate. The hands breaking before his until it reaches bonny where his hand is the one to finally break, damn it gets me every time it seems.

To be honest, I feel like it could’ve been better if Bonney’s character wasn’t so dependent on finding out that Luffy is actually Nika. I think it could’ve been even better if Bonney came to the realization that Nika doesn’t have to be a real person to be found, but an ideal to be taken up by others. That way, she could’ve had the realization that Kuma was her “Nika” all along.

This episode is an actual work of art, down to the art style, the direction, and the music. Everything is there to convoke so much emotion for the GOAT of dads. What's crazy to me is the parallels of Oda's life and Kuma's, a dad that doesn't get to see his own kids that often because he's working to give them a better future at the cost of his own health. To all the good dad's and the one who stepped up I thank you for all you've done.

Something I love about the anime and this may be a hot take idk and idc but in the manga kuma doesn't say anything about Zoro taking luffys pain and it kinda made the moment less impact full in a way and the anime has kuma saying it would knock him unconscious let's zoros moment still be impact full. Just my opinion
