Definitely a low 5/10 movie. Passable but audiences shouldn't really be stuck with passable films especially when this one came out right after Guardians 3 which is one of the best in the Multiverse Saga imo. Don't know if anyone else mentioned but the actress who played the villain is actually Tom Hiddleston's (Loki) partner

I liked the movie when I saw it, but I still find it one of the 5 weakest MCU movies. You pretty much nailed the good and the bad as always as for why I like it (Ms.Marvel is always a delight to see, and Monica is fantastic in her role as well.) definitely over hated. I think this also suffered due to COVID recovery and people still not having Theater money and stuff. As for Kamala using powers sans bangles, it is because she is a mutant, they said that at the end of her show, and the bangle just acted as a key to unlocking her latent mutant powers.

You know what? I think this movie is okay. Sure the villain sucks but the movie is kind of fun. Not amazing but it's okay. Especially considering that it apparently had a lot of production issues and a big chunk of the movie was cut. And yeah Kamala's powers don't come from the bangle, it just unlocked them. They said it in her show. She doesn't need the bangle to use them she just wears it.

You see when you didn't call out captain Marvel's acting in first film I was like dang I guess it meets the requirement. But this movie. Oh yup... no... yeah there it is. Now you see why we kinda find her... meh

this movie could have been good, if they'd cast a better villain (and bree could act). but the thing that killed it for me was the singing planet. how in all the sevel lower hells can you SING, but not TALK. talking precedes singing, you literally CANNOT have the second without the first. that whole sequence was so stupid it broke the entire movie

Me personally I feel like that's literally one of the most creative things They could have done when creating a alien planet where the way they communicate is through singing which I find hilarious which shows how both alien and different from the language of Earth is then that planet full of singing aliens

recently they did a reveal for the next phase of marvel. it was just chairs with the names of actors on the back, but it did include names of actors from the marvel fox x-men movies.

You know what would have been kind of clever? Them pointing out in places how pathetic the villain was. Really hammering home how unimpressed they are. Then when the villain actually gets powered up, have them change into an actual cool outfit, and get them to aurafarm correctly. It would be like "Now I have the power of someone giving me proper shot composition!"

The villain is played by Tom Hiddleston’s wife, Zawe Ashton. She has a similar background (he’s from London, she’s from the U.K.), both been in movies, tv shows and theatre before their appearances in the MCU, and I think many where hoping she would be as good as he was when he first showed up as Loki.

I came into this expecting to hate this movie and I actually came out of it Kinda liking it. It's not great, maybe even not good but the stuff with Ms Marvel was super cute, the singing planet was cool and fun, just wish they did a little more with it maybe and the stuff with Fury, while kinda lame was entertaining lame. I think this movie might break into the so bad it's good with some genuinely good aspects for me.

If only she met the villain of Ant Man 3... so much better than the villain here. Ant Man 3 does not deserve the worst marvel movie allegations only because of the villain, but it does say something that she dropped the film before that point tbh

27:10 I'm with you there - there was this era in, like, the 2000s and 2010s where so many filmmakers' idea of a 'strong female character' was actually just 'literally a bad person.' Kind of like that trend of male characters needing to be smarter than the audience to be relatable, but being profoundly stupid, around the same era.

Gotta say, the Cats sequence was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a theater.
