I feel like I've mentioned this before but I always forget just how much sound plays a part in me visualizing this comic until it comes time to draw it. Unfortunately I can't draw soundscapes. Maybe I'm in the wrong medium. Hopefully I can still evoke the same feelings.

===There's nothing important here so you can just skip this I just feel like ranting a bit.===

Also dang, let me tell you about my tablet ordeal. I upgraded my tablet this month dreaming up all the ways it would improve my workflow and how much faster and better everything would be from here on out. On Wacom's new tablets (yes I know about huion and xppen and how shitty and expensive Wacom is but...) they removed all the buttons you need for hotkeys and put them on a separate remote they sell you for 100 bucks. No matter I thought, I can just use a small bluetooth controller as a hotkey remote.

Before I could even get to that though just trying to use the tablet was a pain. Most tablet manufacturers assume you're a normal person who draws with their tablet on a desk. They don't make tablets for weirdos like me who draw with them in their lap. My old tablet was a 13-incher and the smallest of the newer models is 16. It's not much bigger but it's definitely a little bit unwieldy trying to use it the way I do. Not to mention the cord comes out of the top now instead of the side. On top of THAT the new Wacom drivers completely wiped my old settings and my art program Sai didn't play nice with it. After a few hours of messing with that it eventually started working for no reason as it is wont to do and has continued working. Knock on wood.

Finally ready to start drawing on this new tablet I paired up a switch joycon to use as a hotkey remote and it worked great... in literally every other program except my main drawing program. I could not for the life of me get it to register any key presses in Sai which made no sense as all it was doing was emulating a keyboard command. It just refused to work. After much MUCH more time I realized the program was just borked and once I found a new one it worked immediately.

This was over several days. Just messing with things. Uninstalling reinstalling. Trying to rebuild my settings back to the way they were. Coming to terms with the fact that I might have to use Sai 2 from now on. Or even Clip. Just about everything that could go wrong went wrong. And finally sitting down to draw and finding it really hard to get used to. I couldn't spend the time getting used to it though as I was already way behind on drawing so I finally had to admit defeat and drag out the old tablet again. The first panels lines were drawn on the new tablet and I'm sure you wouldn't notice if I didn't tell you but they just feel a little off to me. It also took me four times longer to draw it. I'm sure in time I'll get used to the new tablet. After I catch up a bit on art. I kinda have to. They don't make prosumer desktop tablets as small as my 13 anymore. At least Wacom doesn't....

Wait you draw on your lap?? Is your tablets one of those with a screen so you’re drawing “on” the image? (So that old artwork of Mack was canon this whole time! Always loved the embroidery on the wrap)

Yeah I just kinda curl up into a little ball in my desk chair with my cintiq in my lap. It's... not the intended method.

Another lap art tablet user! Yay! ( my dogs don't like me sitting up too long, I'm their pillow plus my back likes it too) sorry to hear how stressful the new set up was, it looks great as always, hope you get it set up to your liking!

Also definitely could hear this page! Especially that second panel.

The way you created the light filtering through the water in this page is almost hypnotic. I really love the colors you chose for the light and the water 💜

Yeah I don't understand how people can draw on a digital tablet at a desk. My back starts hurting immediately.
