My COTE is Alaric, even though he decided to leave now he still already been doing so much and waited until he believes Elena will be ok on her own.

Idk if y’all peeped klaus American accent at the beginning lol. Also fun fact, apparently Damon was actually naked in front of Elena to get a real reaction outta her.

Stefan doesn’t lose control, he reverts to a version of himself that already exists. The ease with which he slips back into bloodlust, detachment, and cruelty shows that his morality isn’t fully innate goodness, it’s something he actively suppresses, and fails when he is pushed. He isn’t morally pure, and his darkness is a core flaw. Stefan doesn’t kill only because of confusion or even Klaus, he is able to kill because he’s leaning into the ripper identity again. There’s intention in his actions. Addiction explains behavior, it doesn’t erase responsibility. The writing isn’t saying “Stefan is evil,” but it is saying that “Stefan is dangerous when he stops choosing restraint,” which directly contradicts the idea that he’s only virtuous by nature. Stefan made a conscious decision to use Andie as leverage, then murdered her to hurt Damon to get him to stop following them. That is a straight example of Stefan weaponizing someone innocent, giving a hint into his past. Both brothers have darkness, but it manifests differently. Damon’s flaw is emotional recklessness and control, and Stefan’s is denial and repression. Stefan trying to be “good” doesn’t negate the harm he causes, and this episode makes it very clear that his journey to addiction leads to calamity.

Y’all have to pay attention to peoples expressions in this show.. their expressions tell it all.. for example Stefan’s reaction in the bar when Klaus said he was going to go take care of Damon. Another example is his reaction during the phone call with Elena. It’s not like his humanity is off.

Love love love A Drop in the Ocean.

I love the line when Damon says “Stefan is never coming back, not in your lifetime”. I think that last part is so key. Stefan has been on and off his ripper wagon for 150ish years or whatever, and Elena thinks she can save him. Damon knows that is just not true.

MVP of the episode I would say is my boy Damon bc he tries to let Elena know Stefan doesn’t want to come back without telling her she just killed someone he cares about, but still lets her know he is in ripper mode also giving her necklace that represents her love with Stefan even tho he loves her he still respecting the boundaries , as well as tracking down Klaus n Stefan as Klaus is not one easy original to track, also letting Stefan know Elena is still trying to get him back despite being gone for months still, and he lost Andie and didn’t go on a killing rampage as he normally would when he’s hurt or upset, it shows a lot of character growth that he’s trying to be better just bc Stefan is gone n knows Elena doesn’t like the bad side of him while Stefan is literally the worst version of himself rn without her knowledge , (Rip andie🩷 )

Y'all need to give my girl Elena a break, just let her feel how she feels.

In this show, not everything is black and white. You have to learn to read between the lines of the dialogues. And very importantly, pay attention to the characters’ facial expressions, body language, etc.! I would really recommend pausing the video if you want to say something. Otherwise, you might miss something important — possibly even an answer to your questions! And don’t forget: they are vampires. Both of them have done terrible things! At first, I was surprised that you were concerned about an 18-year-old drinking alcohol :D But then it occurred to me: right, in the U.S. you’re allowed to drive a car at 16 (which is totally crazy to me), but you can’t drink until you’re 21.
