🤠 I’m glad to be working through the show again. I was part of the OG audience who had no idea what was going on with the viewing order so I gave up. My friend broke out the DVD box set when the Serenity movie came out.

We’ve got lots of mercy 👊

I am loving this. I don't know what it is Taco, but more than any other reactor, I really feel like I am watching with a friend when I watch with you. I have seen this series twice, but it's been a number of years since the last time. I don't remember fortunately, what happens in each episode so they magically feel fresh, even though I retain an abiding love for all the characters. Truly a perfect situation for a rewatch. Thank you!

You are so right on in your analysis of this show. The writing is just next level. It's so tight and efficient; nothing is wasted. Every single line and shot moves the story forward, reinforces character, foreshadows where the series is going, contributes to the theme of the episode or adds to the world building; usually more than one or all at the same time! It's no wonder that even with only 14 episodes (and a movie) it still gained such a passionate fan base. It's just so densely packed! No spoilers, but rest assured that the show doesn't leave you hanging completely. Not *all* loose ends are tied up, but fortunately the movie was able to answer enough questions and conclude enough plotlines that it feels satisfactory and complete enough. Thank you for your insights into one of my all time favorite series! It's been so much fun revisiting it with your fresh perspective and keen perception. Way to make a great show even better 💚

In terms of ideology, for me it’s kind of helpful to try to remember when this show came out and what the political climate was like in the states at the time. Middle of Bush’s first term, a year after 9/11, Patriot Act in effect, war in Afghanistan in full swing. Joss Whedon was at least at the time a pretty vocal progressive and I’ve always seen the anti-establishment elements in Firefly as a bit of a reaction to that era in US foreign policy.

So cool of you to post episodes earlier than originally planned. Seeing a full episode with you is great. Love how you are absorbing and thinking about this universe. Stay awesome! Stay Shiny.

Really enjoy your reactions.

Was so excited when I saw you were doing this show - adore your reactions, and have subbed to you on YT for a while

I agree 100%, best part of character drama is when they act out of who they & not act simply to move the plot forward. And so each ep develops the characters more solidly

Another Browncoat here, and it's great to see new people find the show - it's like going back to 2002 all over again, so as soon as I saw your reaction on YouTube, I had to subscribe to your Patreon. I've been following this show since it first aired on Fox backin the day. It was immediately apparent that this show was something special. Such a pity the executives at Fox didn't see it that way.
