This first episode, "A Study in Pink", is loosely based on the first Sherlock Holmes novel, "A Study in Scarlet." Fun fact!

I freaking love that you clocked the cabbie before Sherlock did 🤯🤯🤯

I can’t wait for the next reaction! Absolutely amazing that you have no prior knowledge of Sherlock Holmes stories. It’s a miracle that “Moriarty” means nothing to you, so I really hope nothing spoils the future story. Most people who watch this show, even if they never read a Sherlock book, watched one of the tv shows, or seen a Sherlock movie, still have knowledge through pop culture (bcuz the stories are so old & popular, adapted numerous times). But this is going to be a unique experience to witness and I hope you’ll enjoy the show a lot. You were so quick with the mystery, I shouldn’t be surprised but it’s still impressive.

This hit me hard with a visceral flashback of being in university, binging this show, and reading SO MUCH fanfiction about these two little guys. Never has a show queerbaited its audience like this one. 😂😂😂 So much fun. Looking forward to the next episodes, esp ep 3. 👀🤫

LET'S GO! I'm so exited to share this show with you! I already know you are going to absolutely love this. And I have two eps to catch up!🌹

To start with, I was cracking up at the beginning when you had to rewind three or four times because you were fixated on it being your birthday. I feel you, I’m the same. Wow, this is one of my favourite series. It’s been ages since I last watched it and I really enjoyed your reaction. By the way, my absolute favourite moment was exactly at one hour, thirty minutes and forty-five seconds, when Sherlock had that perfect poker face and you said, “Moriarty, I don’t know who Moriarty is,” because he was thinking exactly the same thing and it felt like you were dubbing him. Hahaha. This episode’s brilliant. As you said, it shows right away the most basic traits of Sherlock’s personality. As a big fan of Arthur Conan Doyle’s books, I think it’s really interesting that they chose to make Sherlock a sociopath with prosocial skills, because it fits the character really well and gives him so much more depth. I can’t wait to watch the next episodes and hear your thoughts on the character, and which ones end up being your favourites. Though, knowing the history we share, I’m pretty confident you’ll end up liking them all.

While I understand not thinking anyone could be like Sherlock. I will state that there are genius' like him. Especially those who are neurodivergent. But yeah Sherlock is technically a work of fiction. But I always love him as a character that represents the type of people who don't fit the norm of society.

The *obsession* that 25-year-old me had on Benedict Cumberbatch because of his acting in this show cannot be understated. My Pinterest and Tumblr pages were full of SuperWhoLock stuff (Supernatural, Doctor Who and Sherlock were all big for us geeks at that time). Love that years later both he and Martin Freeman ended up in the MCU. Looking forward to watching the rest of these!
