Another great reason to watch The Newsreader. She and Sam are just incredible 🙂

It's quite interesting how the change to the view and categorisation of sexuality has changed over the past, what, about 60 years? But even now it's a struggle to be treated like a regular human being; so much hatred over something that doesn't directly impact so many of those who hate the LGBTQ+ community. This episode does change it up with the dynamic of Wendy and Snitch which is ncie and interesting to see how Snitch reacts to it. Wendy using a personal experience to get an interviewee to open up, a slightly adjacent way to the way that Holden and Bill undertake their interviews.

Looking at what Bill and his wife are going through, with his perspective on how murders take place and all of the smaller titbits he gets from his interviews and insights to how these happen has to be chilling because he's seeing what could become of his son. His son's difficulties with social interaction and not understanding what the other kids have done meant he tried to do what he knew what right - it still puts him in a situation where seems to set him on the path that Bill's seen of other murderers. Can't imagine his fear.

I have a suspicion he may already be watching it . . . . ;)

I don’t know how the hell Mindhunter got cancelled. It was all anyone was talking about at the time, felt like. I think it might have been very expensive. Super famous director known for perfectionism - maybe they tried to cut the budget and Fincher refused. It did what Netflix wanted, though… it was one of the first streaming shows that was really “prestige” TV, competitive with HBO (along with Stranger Things). It made people think streaming original shows could be worth watching and paying for a Netflix subscription to watch.

Dude you’re so right about the writing. Really the whole package. It’s like the camera loves the actors, the actors love the writing and ironically what’s said in the silences explodes. From start to final scene Mindhunter leaves me slightly uncomfortable. It’s so great but in my opinion that’s what killed any chance of a season 3.

Well now that you know a bit about BTK, it’s just so interesting how wrong they were about him in their basement discussions. That he couldn’t have a relationship (was married with kids) or be religious (not only active in his church, but caught because of church metadata on a floppy disk).
