The way I normally write things has a lot to do with letting a manuscript sit around for a year before it sees the light of day. Welcome to a new era. Starting tomorrow, I'll be running a new story. With two other stories running? Yeah, I just can't help myself no matter how hard I try.

System Scribe Academy is the direct sequel to Newt and Demon while still being standalone. I'm going to start running this story here on Patreon well before it hits RoyalRoad. I'll be posting the chapters (in groups of 5) as I write them. This will be the norm going forward where 3rd tier patrons get access to stuff well before I release it to the free readers.

This story is not going to run on RR until December/January/February (I'm not sure which) after I'm done writing N&D and Gladesbale. You can also expect another new story to run here before the year ends, and it will follow the same format. The other story, tentatively titled "Reincarnated Rancher" is also a direct sequel to N&D.

System Scribe Academy takes place on a planet we haven't seen yet, while rancher will take place on Fenian's planet (Erradon). This is all part of a bigger plan to write standalone books that take place in the same universe and this is the book that bridges it together. It gives me a chance to try out new systems while maintaining the same universe.

I'm curious, and I apologize if this has been mentioned and I just missed it, but when you say this is sort of sequel it makes me wonder more. Is the current book 8 the final planned book in the Newt story? Do you even know at the moment how many more books you think this story will be? thanks for the update by the way.

Yes, Newt and Demon is planned for only 8. I'm legit out of ideas for that series, but I wanted to keep it going from another perspective! Scribe will keep the story going, but from a new character's perspective. Scribe is also written more like N&D then Gladesbale, so I'm leaning more SoL instead of cozy.
