Friday Updates (week of 5-19-2023) (Patreon)

Alright. That's a wrap for my sprint on the unknown book. Let's look at numbers and see how I did. Note, if you're looking at these numbers and you think I wrote a lot, this was the start of a book. The EASIEST part to write.

Chapter 1 was written on April 21st, and chapter 36 was finished today.

Chapter lengths were basically all 3k.

27 days, 36 chapters, 108,000 words, 4,000 word per day average.

And the worst statistic: I might hate the book. Well, I think this one is a lot better than the last one I tried writing so that's a start. Now, it's going into the virtual drawer and we move on to...

The Newt and Demon!

Hopefully I can have a nice sprint with that story. It's at 65 chapters right now, and is going to get at least 2 more chapters without the epilogue. Going to start a tradition of swapping POVs at the end of the book to put a cap on everything.

I'm going to start the sprint on Monday, because who needs a break? Joking. I'll likely start it earlier than that because I can't help myself.

N&D4 is weird as it sits in my head. It's a big bridge between not knowing stuff about the world and knowing stuff about the world. It has a very important ending that changes things. It also reveals what Fenian is actually doing.

Well, I don't really want to write more about how that book is, since book 3 is still rolling. Some extremely important things happen with the plot for 3, but a lot of the narrative on 4 is going to be about building and alchemy. Of course, right?
