Writing for book 5 has been going very well. I took about two weeks away from working on the next story to work on something else. I'll talk about some things with book 5 first...
I feel like book 5 hasn't had enough alchemy. I've been trying to get Theo to grind to 30 in a way that makes sense so I could explore the next tier for alchemy. Trying to make up for this around the chapter 35 mark, so I'm hopeful I can get some more alchemy in for this book. I think I'll ask the publisher about book lengths, and if they're okay with book 5 being like... 225k-250k, we'll just spend more time in this book. That should be about 75 to 90 chapters. I also wanted to get through the Season of Fire but there are still 20+ days left in that. Yikes.
Okay, why is this update a poll?
A while back I was working on a game project that never came to light. Scope creep ruined it and I lost my interest. Over the past two weeks I've been messing around with those old art assets. Someone (somewhere) said they would play a Newt and Demon video game and I thought "Well, why the hell not?" Double-checked my contract and I have rights to the videogame adaptation. Yay.
I am a software engineer by trade and it has felt very good to do something creative with those skills. If anyone here is interested in playing very early versions of that game (with some conditions), fill out the poll. Limited time and resources mean it will be a pixelart 2d rpg in the vein of Stardew.
The question answered in the poll is: Are you interested and able to play a desktop game for windows?
Sorry for hijacking the weekly update. Thanks to everyone here for your constant support. You're the best!
