Content

Hey there agents!

We've internally discussed a few topics over the past few days on how to improve the way we work so we can output more content for your enjoyment.

One of the topics that was brought up is the custom backgrounds we design for combat. In Silent Echo, each room has its own background image, and when a fight happens in a room, the background of the combat scene matches the location in which it happens.

In a few cases it's a variation of the normal background, but as complexity increased in the game, more often than not we find ourselves creating a brand new artwork to fit the room and the perspective needed for it to look nice during combat.

These artworks take quite some time to make, instead of having a couple of generic thematic backgrounds that we use according to the overall tone of the location.

We're wondering if we should switch to a set of more generic backgrounds for combat and free time for other tasks, and we'd love to hear your opinion about it.

Thanks for your help! :)

That could be am extra thing you do when fixing bugs

Couldnt the battle background be the same as the normal background when exploring? If you want to separate it, you could out the enemies on a square background like old Dragon Quest games

Yeah custom backgrounds would be a nice attention to details, but that's not critical.

I’d say save the background painting for a future update when the game is near complete. Maybe make them the final touch before moving on the next chapters production.
