Crazy line to drop about his parents but the reasons why is even crazier. Also, Pica’s voice reminds me of Mike Tyson 🤣.

As loony, power hungry and morally bankrupt as Doffy is, he holds family as his highest regard. He actually legitimately DOES really care about those close to him. But he only considers you family if he can trust, respect and loyally devote yourself to him. That's why Law's "betrayal" really angered him. (This is just a theory but...) He initially just wanted Law dead as violently as possible. But when he laid eyes upon him in Green Bit he may have had a change of heart and settled for hurting and capturing Law instead to try and persuade him to come back to the family. Essentially trying to give him another chance. He does (or did) have affection for Law and considered him family at one point. Sick and twisted form of affection, but it's there none-the-less. Something, something, something... flamingos are like onions. Layers.
