iOS in-app fees and new pricelist (Patreon)

Hello everybody,

As some of you may have already noticed, the way subscriptions work on my Patreon has changed since the beginning of April.
Now, renewals happen exactly one month after you sign up, instead of on the 1st of each month like before.
So, for example, if someone joins on the 28th, their next charge will be on the 28th of the following month.

Very important: if you’re planning to sign up, don’t do it through the Patreon app on iOS.
Why? Because Apple adds a 30% fee (even on renewals), and that money doesn’t go to me or to Patreon—it goes straight to Apple.
If you have an iPhone or a Mac, just use your web browser to sign up and completely avoid the fee.
Nothing changes if you’re using any other device.

Now, about the pricing for the Tartarus and Asphodel tiers.
When I first launched this page in 2022, I set the prices based on what I thought I could produce each month.
More than three years have passed since then, and as you’ve probably noticed, the amount and length of the stories I post has grown a lot.
Because of that—and of some good old inflation—I need to slightly adjust prices.
Both tiers will go up by €2, so they’ll now be €6.50 and €8.50.

This adjustment is immediate for new members, but not for current patrons: your next renewal within the next 30 days will still be at the old price, the new one will kick in after that.
