Hello, I hope you all had a good hiatus from the patreon here. So, I'm going to be honest with everybody here. I do not make enough money from the patreon as it currently stands. I work a job besides this, and if I want art here to become my main source of income something would need to change. Either that, or I dial back and accept this won't be a main source of income and more of a hobby. But if I do the latter, than the current workload cannot persist.

So there are two options I can see. Either I increase the barrier of minimum entry from 1 dollar to 3, as per what patreon initially auto-suggested. Or I leave it as is, but remove the monthly character vote in sequence in it's entirety and just simply draw character sequences when I so wish, and focus more on Lauren comics and Big Dig. Either way, the twenty dollar character sketch tier is probably going to be removed.

But I want to hear your perspective on this. What do you think I should do? Would a price increase be too much of a deal breaker? Would you stay if the big sequences weren't here? I'd really like to know before I come to a final solution.

I'm going to see if I can halt charging again for a bit longer until I can come to a proper conclusion.

I’m more than happy to pay a little bit more to support your passion, but if you want to slow down I will be just happy. Keep up the great work and look after yourself. <L

If you don't mind me suggesting, maybe you could alternate between the character sequences and Big Dig each month? (I don't know if this would be too much work for you)

I think you’re severely underselling yourself by even having a $1 tier, so definitely up that. Honestly I think the bottom tier should be $5. I don’t think you’d need to add anything to it since we already get a lot at $5. I’d suggest you look at how many $1 subs you have and multiply it by 5. Even if 2/3 of them decided not to resub you’d still come out better than before. I can understand hesitating to charge more, but I think your artistic skill could easily carry the cost. It sounds like you’d prefer to have art be your main source of income and I would love to see you do that. The only way to make that dream a reality is to up the cost of membership here. I won’t point fingers, but I’ve seen significantly less talented people charge more and still get people to sign up for a decent monthly income. I think the key there is marketing. Easiest way I can think of pushing a $5 tier - “can you avoid buying one drink a month from a coffee shop or a bar? Maybe drop that twitch sub from a year ago that you keep forgetting to cancel? Because you could use that $5 to get access to all kinds of hot balloon women instead. You can even vote on the next one we blow up and pop, how great is that?”

Matt

Sorry, my suggestion probably won't help (I'll move my vote to one of the other choices, since I'm the only one that chose other). I do agree with the others that your art is definitely worth the price increase.

The price increase is very much warranted, $1 is far too low for your work and and the quality you put into it. And just pragmatically, since we're a niche fetish you can't really sell wide with $1 memberships. There's only so many people who would donate at all. I don't really want to see the character polls go, because that's a nice benefit for members to have. But, I know that you're much more passionate about the bigger projects. And, I think that should really be your main focus if you want them to be. I've said quite a few times before how incredible and unique they are. If the character polls get pushed to being bi-monthly or something I'm fine with that. And if that means more Lauren and Big-Dig even better. And I feel like you shouldn't be afraid to do further changes down the line if you need to. I just have the gut feeling that this is the kind of thing you have to spend a long time tinkering with to get right. Especially if you want to do this full time.

An increase based on change in workload is only natural, honestly you deserve to set your own prices but thanks for reaching out, also remember you are only human and burnout can hit ya so take breaks when you can it would be a shame if you came to find what you do annoying or tedious after all thats usually what normal jobs are for, to drive us nuts haha

Burst-Your-Breasts

I'm happy to pay more. Your work is great. I'd rather you charge what your art is worth. You deserve it!

Your long popping sequences are my favorite so do whatever you need to to keep making them :D Even though I like to follow many artists and $1 tiers make that easier than $3 tiers. Do you do stuff like delayed or censored public releases, or Patreon exclusives? I imagine you could double the price of the sketch tier and it'd still sell out, too.
