Signing up to share this information with you. To keep it short, you can obtain a business visa as a YouTuber, which is actually much easier than other types of business visas. I'm sure you can find plenty of information with this tip, but if needed, I’d be happy to help with more details. I hope this information reaches you soon. also signed up just to second this: I'm in the process of signing up for my spousal visa right now so if you end up with questions about the process, there's a lot of overlap. I've also gotten a temporary 180 day business visa in the past. it's more straightforward than you'd imagine, but also given that you're familiar with Japanese bureaucratic BS (like the copyright/physical media distribution shenanigans), it's convoluted and can require lots of paperwork. straightforward paperwork! but lots of it. I'll also be living in Kyoto from next year, and somewhere at the back of my mind I've been thinking "hey I should see if Japanalysis wants a boots-on-the-ground or b-roll sort of thing" because I love the channel, then I saw that question in this video. lmk!
