I actually thought Wesley was possessed by The First for a second cause what the hell?!

Shout-out to the new Wesley... Other than Spike he's my favorite character... If you go back and watch season 1 Wesley and now season 4 Wesley... The arc is incredible... Plus I love that Wesley is trying to be Faith's watcher... Yes I know he's being a little hardcore with it... But he's not wrong... Buffy literally just told Spike he was a better fighter when he was evil... So Spike had to tap back into that... I think Wesley has the same policy as Buffy...

I totally understand wanting to just "get through" season 4 of Angel. The whole Cordy/Connor thing is just weird and gross. That said, I do think there are a lot of great moments in season 4. Everything with the return of both Faith and Angelus, I think is a lot of fun. And the final season of Angel is probably the best in the series, so it's worth it to get there.

The reteaming of Faith and Wesley is my favorite thing in this season. It's like they've been given a chance to do it right this time. The interesting part is that it only works because of what they've learned and how they've changed over the last 4 years. Faith is telling Angelus the truth, she really isn't that self-hating self-destructive girl she used to be. She understands now that she's fighting for something more than herself. And Wes is no longer the stiff everything-by-the-rules Watcher. Maybe stabbing that poor junkie is going too far (I'd forgotten that scene until watching this again), but it shows he knows that in a desperate situation, you might have to cross the line. They've switched roles, and the combination works now.

Colored eyes is something of a standard way of showing that somebody is possessed or is using magic abilities. It's not particularly associated with the First, so Cordy's eyes being colored doesn't necessarily mean the First is involved. Just that she's working the mojo, as Lorne would say. I don't agree with Wesley stabbing that woman -- apart from all of the morality problems, torture DOESN'T WORK -- but he is correct that Faith hasn't been "in it" for this sequence. Being "in it" does NOT require being bloodthirsty or mean like he seems to think it does, but he was still right that she wasn't there. I guess it's up to Faith to show Wesley that there are other ways to Do What Needs To Be Done without succumbing to the darker urges.

first time i'm realizing that when angelus has is little banter outside the hotel to faith, he mentions "consequences" and "choices" which were names of 2 major faith episodes in buffy season 3, FUN!
