Fun episode, I really like that we get to see depth in some of the character conflicts. In many shows, Albert would be presented as the bold federal investigator who did nothing wrong as the local police hamper his investigation through corruption and/or stupidity; or he would be a useless fed that forces the entire town of good people to jump through his federal hoops for no reason. The fact that here, he is clearly good at his job and is getting information to help the case but not great with people which leads to conflict, is a great bit of writing.

The Testimony of Mushroom

Sheryl Lee played Laura and Madeleine. I'm glad we get to see her in flashbacks, in dream and as another live character; she plays a good dead body but has more range than that!
